Saw the first episode of Penny Dreadful s2. Not spectacular, but an interesting start of a new arch. Eva Green and Timothy Dalton are fantastic, especially together.

I had forgotten how little we still know about the backgrounds of the main characters. They've done well, I think, to retain the mystery without making it seem forced.

I really hope that last man on earth doesn't get picked up for a second season. It is fucking awful. It makes me retroactively hate everything that any actor in it has done. I can't even watch bobs burgers anymore because fuck that lady and her voice.

This. The guy has been complaining about the show like a little bitch almost every week now. Why watch it if you hate it so much. Can not your time be spent doing something you enjoy?

By the way crybaby RL, the show has been picked up for a second season and I am stoked. If RL baby complains about season 2, I'm going to find him and force him to watch every episode ala A Clockwork Orange until his eyeballs dry up and turn to dust.

While the show is NOT remotely funny (and I usually love Miller and Lord's work...all the way back to Clone High) in even the slightest way (I watched about 5 eps before giving up..there are so many jokes that each scene could include but just don't) there isn't really a need to decry it beyond simple dislike. You don't have to watch it RLY, and a number of people do seem to enjoy it.

I'm not sure I'd watch something I didn't care for...which is why I bailed after 5 eps. Hated HOMELAND (for another example) and gave up after 3 eps which is usually my rule to see if I like something.

Yeah, my wife watched it for 5 eps and also gave up. I don't know if it's because it's quite an American politics show or what. I may give it another go down the line on Netflix, but my initial impression was not great.

Everyone else: focus on discussing the shows, not the character of the people discussing the shows, and realise that not everyone likes what you like, and that's ok. If you can post every week about the latest episode of a show you like, so can the people who dislike it. This thread doesn't have to be a circle - jerk of opinion.

It's got a LOT of flaws, but it's got some pretty good moments too. I'm 4 episodes behind though so I have no clue if the payoff is worth all the ramshackle writing.

Though I stopped watching it had a number of great qualities...and a slew of bad ones. For me the bad ones outweighed the good ones, but you may be different Binder. And apparently the finale was batshit insane in a good way. Fair warning: Jada Pinkett Smith overacts in every scene she's in.

Cheers lads, I have a few episodes of Gotham saved, but never got round to watching them since the reviews were so mixed (and there was plenty of other stuff to catch up on in the meantime). Looks like it will have to stay on the back burner for a while so, since I haven't watched DAREDEVIL yet and that got nothing but rave reviews.

I stuck with gotham but it's what I class as a filler, I'll watch it if there is nothing else to watch, it didn't really get any better towards the back end of the season, pretty meh but the finale was decent, a couple of surprising moments but nothing wow!

Looking forward to watching the Forever finale tomorrow, have to wait to watch it with the misses!
