Rumour/theory about the HIMYM finale that now seems like it's going to be proven true.

I think that, at this point, no one really gives a shit what happens to the mother. We all just want this show to end with a few more laughs and a few less groans.

Yup. I haven't watched a new episode for ages, I'm just waiting for it to finish and then read about it on here. Seriously, I wouldn't care even if it was massive spoilers and you didn't spoiler tag them. I'm gonna read it, go "oh, fair enough" and then watch Brooklyn Nine Nine instead. Cos it's ace.

I wouldn't be offended by such an ending, they've stretched it a season too far imo anyway, they could have chopped a few episodes the last few series and had a much higher overall quality (both story driven moments and just for laughs moments)
still love the show, one of the few that I watch when its on even though I've seen all the episodes.
also, loving Brooklyn 99, I assume the US is ahead of us, our most up to date episode is the crusty old reporter that samberg worships. Was last night

I think the issue with HIMYM stems largely from the creative team backburner-ing midway through the series. The original creative team seemed to have a set story in mind, and the show was always funny and entertaining and heartfelt...but after the creative switch (I'm guessing this was the network wanting to extend the show for more seasons for more revenue...typical American network bullshit: story suffers for extra eyeballs/ratings) things got silly. I mean there was a whole episode where Marshall was inhabited by the soul of a sassy dead woman. I'd say the first 4 seasons of this show were excellent, but after that things just got drawn out, and probably 50% of each season since S5 could be trashed as filler.

Spoiler

I'm always defending the LOST finale. I'm SO in the minority on that one. Even my best friend thinks I'm nuts.

The new series of Cosmos: A Space Odessey has begun with Neil Degrasse Tyson. Good stuff!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Just watched Cosmos, thought it was a pretty good first step. Kinda curious to see what gets repeated from the original and what gets left out, since it's largely the same format.
Also, on another note, tonight's Adventure Time (and this is true really of the past three weeks) was exceptional. I thoroughly love Lemongrab episodes already, but this was ambitious.

Offtopic, but I watched Tekkonkinkreet a few days ago. Seeing your avatar reminded me that I wanted to tell you that I cried while watching it. Amazing film.

Plowing through Season 4 of the downtoncrack.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I realized that COSMOS was one too late, and have to settle for PVR-ing the series from Ep 2 onwards sadly.
Here's hoping it shows up on iTunes to buy so I can see Ep 1.
but yeah, to say I'm excited about it is an understatement.

This may not work where you live, but the full ep is up on the FOX website (and the National Geographic channel is broadcasting the show as well -- might be worth checking out your On Demand options as well if your cable company does that). http://www.fox.com/watch/183733315515

Yeah, wasn't entirely happy with this season. They are showing the march of time and the estate coming to grips with modern, postwar Britain, which is all good, but ffs
Spoiler
Still, soap opera-y stuff aside, Maggie Smith alone is worth the price of admission.

Watched the pilot episode of that new show BELIEVE, and I have to say it's got a lot of improving to do if it's to survive. It's like a cross between Firestarter and Touched, but more of the latter. Child is "Special" and will likely save the world, and is being hunted by shadowy forces.
It had some of the worst fight sequences I've seen in a mainstream show in quite some time. Really terrible. And some pretty poor acting from some of the leads.
This will be doing well to air 6 episodes unless there is a massive jump in quality. I'll wait to see if it survives before bothering to watch another.
