I've watched the 5th episode of season 3 from Downtown Abbey last night, really enjoying the show.

I'm not sure where I'm looking forward the most too, season 3 of Game of Thrones or season 4 of Downtown Abbey which they are recording now.

WTH moment: I was watching my Game of Thrones season 2 DVDs when I suddenly realized that the guy who plays Yoren is also Victor, the (sort of) villain on silly Teen Nick show House of Anubis (yes, I will admit to watching it).

Not quite as weird as finding out that Scooby Doo and Megatron are the same guy, but I was impressed with my discovery.

In other news, Hollywood is apparently running low on actors, because Agent Durham from Caprica = Silas Nash from Blood & Chrome.

PERSON OF INTEREST had been getting kinda boring of late, but last night's episode was fantastic. My favorite of the entire show, maybe.

Just got caught up on the last 3 eps and i thought each turned out far better than i expected. ...

The Irritating Billionaire episode was predictable, but had some great dialogue and i enjoyed the way the 'Billionaire' actor (whom i liked on BREAKOUT KINGS) played someone as smart as Finch.

The 'Serbian Maid' ep was fine but GunJesus and EvilGovAgent guy FINALLY got down to fists and knives and that was AWESOME!

finally, the Sarah Shahi episode started strong, looked good heading into the end, and then fizzled out a bit. Still, i didn't expect her to be nearly as good as she was and i enjoyed the way Finch and GunJesus were basically on the periphery of the story.

Still one of my fave shows on TV.

THE AMERICANS was losing me but the Reagan Assassination ep was really well done and brought me back, nicely amping up all kinds of elements.

SONS OF ANARCHY S4... ...fuck.

THE FOLLOWING is getting consistently better. The last two-part ep was briliant and Kevin Bacon is starting to chew scenery in this part like i knew he could but was waiting to see. Handcuffed, outnumbered and outgunned and he intimidates the absolute shit out of serial killers. Awesome.

The new Hannibal show, with Bryan Fuller as showrunner and Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal. The first episode is excellent. Mikkelsen is so, so good and Hugh Dancy as Will Graham, the actual lead, is brilliant too.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Has Da Vinci's Demons piqued you cool kid's interests? The first episode airs Friday, April 12 on Starz. I think I'll give it try and see where it goes.

Good to know. I have the first two pvr'd for view soon.
Am a little concerned i'll find it redundant vs THE FOLLOWING, but that show has slowed down a bit so hey, bring on Hannibal The Cannibal!

I want to agree with you but the last two eps ... the identity theft killer and the old gambler... have been deep in the weaksauce.

Actually fastfwd'd one of them just to see the Carter bits and skip the rest. Annoying because i usually really enjoy this show, but Finch and GunJesus have been phoning it in. Hoping for better this week.

Am enjoying THE VOICE far far too much. I generally despise this sort of talent show/reality tv, but the contestants are for the most part genuinely talented and the byplay between the judges is fun.

Cautiously psyched for DEFIANCE next week.

I agree with your assesment on the old gambler episode. It really wasn't very good, Except for the Ken Leung part in the beginning. I like that Decima Technologies story so far.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Saw Syfy's "making of" DEFIANCE special. I'm trying to keep an open mind here, but I'm already predicting a number of storylines based on what was shown, and I'm not sure I'm up for it.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

My main worry with this show is predictability. I'll give it a chance because it's new sf and may be pretty to look at, but expectations are low.

Hopefully it can't be worse then Terra Nova or Revolution since that was utterly rubbish.

Did any of you see Da Vinci's Demons? The first episode aired this week and it wasn't half bad actually. I usually steer clear of Starz shows because I've never been able to get into them. They've never been really compelling to me. But this one starts out rather nicely I think...

Any idea of when we'll know what new series will air this year?

DVR'd "Top of the Lake" - aired on the Sundance Channel - and finally finished watching all episodes. Holy shit! Wow, just wow. If you get a chance, try and catch this seven part mini-series.

First they will order the new series after watching the pilots, then will release the fall premiers. Usually somwhere around July.

Top of the Lake sounds awesome, definitely gonna check it out ASAP.

In not so good news, Futurama has been cancelled yet again.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Yesterday I read that 24 is making a return. I guess it will be a 12 episodes and they'll either be skipping hours or condensing 2 hours into one (probably longer time breaks between commercials so that what you're watching will always be in "real time"). It's also supposed to be a limited series, which means that this will be a one time thing. My guess is that Fox is testing the waters with this, and if it's a success 24 will be back indefinitely. If not, it'll give Jack the final sendoff that they were hoping to do with a movie.

I have high hopes for this. I loved the first five seasons of the show but I felt that the last three, while they had their moments, were nowhere near as good. My thoughts and hopes:

1) No fucking mole. I know it's kind of a signature of 24, but it's been so overdone that I don't ever want to hear about a mole again.
2) 12 episodes should give the writers more time to focus on the quality of everything that's going on. I heard that when they were making 24-episode seasons they were often writing episodes the day before they were filmed. This should allow the writers more time to think things out. Also, the condensed format should allow for them to avoid filler.
3) No annoying new characters. It's probably inevitable, but I'd really like to see people actually place their faith in Jack for once. I always roll my eyes when people second guess him. Have they read this guy's résumé?
4) Cut out the bullshit office arguments. They've always plagued the show and they have never been interesting.
5) Cut the President out of the picture. David Palmer made sense in the first season, and he was such an awesome character that I was fine with them keeping him afterward. Charles Logan worked great too. But I don't think the President needs to be a part of this show anymore.

Whatever the case, I love Jack Bauer and I'm hoping that we can see something as awesome as Season 5 was.

Haha, yeah, that does get a bit jarring after he's been: head of/lead field agent of CTU, been doubted, cut loose, saved the entire United States and several Presidents, about EIGHT TIMES NOW. You would think, the moment a crisis comes up, people would just sit down, shut up, and wait for Jack Bauer to solve it for them. XD

Then again, I'm still waiting for Jack to do something dramatic and heroic, and when someone else says "Good job, Jack, the threat has been averted!" (or whatever), he turns around, emotionless gaze fixed, and says: "It's not over."
"What, but we defeated the-"
"It's only been six hours. There are at least 18 hours before this is over. Trust me."

Because you know, by now, you'd think he would know the drill. :p
