also, if all goes well, starting Monday I'll be employed full-time 11-8, with little net access

so, IF either PB or Obdi declare a high TMDI game signup, I DEMAND to be put in, even though I might not be there to sign up myself.

if I will not be, you will all feel my wrath

also, note to self; once I get some disposable cash, first order of business is to upgrade phone to make it mafia-compatible.

Playing Mafia on your phone itself is a pain - try get a phone with a decent modem (3G or HSDPA) and install the connectivity software on your work PC. That way you can use your work PC which is much easier. Just remember Windows+D is your friend when people walk into your office. Depending on your companies IT policy this may involve convincing your IT department to install the software (so you can sync your work contacts and email is a reason they tend to buy), or to give you admin rights on your computer (You'll have to be a little more creative with this. It can be done though, even if it's only until your next restart or whatever). If all this fails you might have to social engineer the admin password out of them - be warned though this is technically 'hacking' and could possibly get you in to trouble. Still better than actually playing on your phone ;)

lol, thanks for the advice, alt,but my job isn't of a desk-based variety (sadly)

as such, I'll have to keep up with a phone on the go.

Hell, untill the site become incompatible with it, I used to (occasionally) check the game with my Motorolla V360 and its 2-thumb screen, complete with neededing to use google to get to the site.
I remember in the first Benses game, I had a work thing that i arrived early to, so i decided to strol to the local mall. I started to check the thread on the way, and found out I was about to be lynched, forcing me to sprint to the mall, find a coin-operated "pay as you surf" kiosk, and reveal to pevent being speed-lynched.

in any case, I need a new phone. I got my current one three summers ago, as a "hardware upgrade" to my old Nokial, so it was far from top of the line even then.

Put on the books Dominion war mafia.

Details so far thought out. Six factions
No RI
20-25 players

Mod alts to be used Path-shaper and Hunin and Munin.

To be developed further.

Need a co-mod

Tapper, I'd be honored to help you mod Spycraft 2. I don't know that anyone else could do it, since we both discussed it for a while before it actually launched.

Also, I'm going to probably try to run Kill Bill after the current mini finishes because I've been waiting a long time to do it and new random games keep getting started up. The only game ahead of mine that has actually gotten off the ground was Twilight.

;) as Venge says. I approached him late october when I had seen no reaction from you. I'd be much obliged if you'd be willing to help out on the rule section (which contains no spoilers/roles), seeing how you have experience with the timing of abilities.

I'll compensate with a kick-ass role.

With all the new ideas coming up faster than we play them, all involving big numbers of players (not to mention games that have been on the list for aaaaaages), it might be a good idea to:

1. either close the list for a while until the queue is a bit cleared up,
2. throw away all the shelved games and establish an order for the other ones, with the rule that you can only trade places with another mod by that mods consent, if you can't run it when your number comes up, sorry, back to the end of the queue ---> no shelving + a proper established playing order.

I'm sure that if we put .5 games in between that are invariably M&P tmdi 2-4, 12 players, no theme or malaz only and experienced mods doing their turn with rookies riding shotgun, we'll be having a better/ less cluttered schedule soon enough with just as much fun.

As for Spycraft 2, if you'd be so kind to put up the following extra info, Ment?

22 players, tmdi 12, town (5 factions) vs scum, point scoring victory for town as in Spycraft 1.

I have no problem with unshelving games, there are a couple on there that look like they will never be run, unless Lish mysteriously resurfaces or Maccy returns to us from the working life. We should really finish setting up that Mistborn game, PB, HD, Obdi (if you still feel like helping) what do your schedules look like for the next while? The new messenger system should make it a lot easier to keep things coordinated.

if you read back, twas what was given to it anyway, which Bent then turned into 21 :killingme:
Spycraft 1 was put at 11. Since I can do shit all with the OP, it must have been either Ment, Morghy or Silencer.

In truth, it is about the same difficulty and craziness at Spycraft 1.

Tap, don't feel bad, I really don't like to read other threads when I'm playing a game because I don't want to risk accidentally posting on the alt. I probably just missed it.

Alt, I'm always ready to help.

I also have a small issue I want to bring up... I thought we had a pretty standardized definition of what constituted a 'mini' game in terms of players, game clocks, and the game's duration. We keep starting up impromptu minis before weekends which constantly violate the set definitions and then ruin the chance of starting full games afterwards.

Everyone says they like a good mini, but there's a lot of games in the queue and I'd personally just like to just stop running minis until people are burned out on the bigger games. Several games on the table have been in development for a while now and probably don't need any extra time to polish or get ready.

I semi agree. Generally I'd like for there to be standard m&p games between every high tmdi game, now as many of the high tmdi games are minis, it might just be simpler to do it so than in cases where a big game and a mini follow each other on the mod list, we can just add in a regular mini following.. so the m&p mini would be game x.75 or so.

Also, I agree with Tapper. Games that have been passed on the list should be moved back to the very end of the list, or scrapped altogether all depending.

So, I have this idea for a game based loosely around the card game Citadels. Looking for an organised US Co-mod. The basic principle I'm operating on is that players' roles change throughout the game, which I guess counts as an unusual mechanic. However, apart from that it's pretty standard Town v Scum. I'd put it at TMDI 6.

The game is pretty much ready to run, just needs a few tweaks based on the number of players (which can be anywhere from 12 up to about 20, I reckon). So I guess it could work as a mini, except that I'd prefer to have reasonably long day/night cycles (was thinking 30/10, or thereabouts).

I've got that Alliance Based game pretty high up on the list, but I'll be honest, that's nowhere near as ready to go as this one. Any chance I could swap them out for one another?

He doesn't like to post out of alt during a game, but I can tell you that at some point since I posted my request for a co-mod, PB offered to fill the position.

Since the list is getting pretty long, I'd better throw my next bit on now. Anyways, I've got 2 more full games and 3 more minis in the works:

Rot3K: Chapter 4 - Showdown at Chi Bi

Rot3K: Chapter 5a - the Nanman Rebellion
Rot3K: Chapter 5b - the Yuan* Family's Vengeance (name will change depending on chapter 3)
Rot3K: Chapter 5c - the Succession of Wu* (name will change depending on chapter 3)

Rot3K: Chapter 6 - The End of the Three Kingdoms

Chapter 4 I'd like added to the list not. 5a, 5b and 5c are minis that can go anytime between 4 and 6 and in any order, and then 6 comes later (so stick the 5s on the end for now but since they're minis they might get moved a bit earlier if a full-game is delayed. Chap. 6 goes right on the end.). That will wrap up the Rot3K series, barring any later retrospective addendums (none are currently planned but hey, who knows what could happen).

edit: Actually, can I swap Chapter 4 in where I've currently got the Jaghut-Death-War game? I'll put that one on hold for a while and add it back in later. Then Chapter 6 can be put at the end of the list and the minis will just run sometime between whenever a mini is needed.

Well I want to run Kill Bill next week, if that's fine with everyone. I see "Uncle Ben's Revenge" on the list as presumably a mini, but I think that game got added quite a while after I suggested Kill Bill. Plus, let's face it, a game where everyone has to post in pictures is not going to be a mini, it's going to take a long time, lol.

edit: If Bubba doesn't mind, I'm going to open sign-ups for Kill Bill. My time gets a lot more limited in late December and I won't be able to play UB's revenge anyway because at work I can't see pictures on the Malaz site.

edit2: apparently it was a shelf game that got brought back. Well, if people want to run that first, it's fine, but I'm really really hoping we can do Kill Bill next week.

I don't have problem with it only if mine does not get pushed back to the end of the line. If the rest agree PB then I'm good with it. I would like to run UB's Revenge in Jan (best time for me).....and just as a bit of a teaser....UB has a bunch of new ways to "silence" players.

Me and mentalist have talked out a load of the Night watch mechanics. Just need to sort out characters and pms and stuff.

The dominion war game might put all my other games to shame in complexity, I have thrown in nearly every mechanic I've come across in this game, apart from sabotage lol.

Hey people, long time no... er, mafia. I've got next week off work so I was wondering if there are any new games kicking off sometime soon? No sign ups on the board so I'm guessing xmas is going to be kicking everyone's arses.

Anyone know what the plans are for when the next game starts? It looks like an Uncle Ben game, which kicks arse :D
