The greatest pirate movie of all time is Yellowbeard. I will brook no arguments on this.

I prefer the Black Swan or the Sea Hawk to Yellowbeard, but . . . Yellowbeard is awesome.

Rewatching "At worlds end" and I have to say the opening is one of the coolest scenes in cinematology.

One by one the pirates are let up to the gallows while the East Indian Companies new laws are read aloud. One by one they're hanged, while a little boy starts singing. Soon all of them a singing in tune, boots stomping in rhytm.

Chilling.

EDIT: And now I realise that the first film also starts with a child singing that song...

I would have to watch them all again, to make sure I voted right...

they are all good, but the first once would get the vote because it can stand alone...

the last two are pretty much one movie, to be watched together... and dont really work well seperate... which I have never really like seeing to be continued in movies... so there you go... all are great imo though

worlds end is a mess, the second one is ok but overly long and does not stand up to repeat viewings so by that logic its the first one!!

yes, the opening scene is great.
The first one is good, a bit less serious and stands well on it's own; Dead Man's Chest is a mix of the two - I think the best one. I didn't see the point in keeping characters from the first film, like the pair of soldiers, in the sequels just for the sake of it.
