I guess im am. Some parts can be optimistic-ish but thre are times where everyting is just horrible. especially about thap part about gods being insane because there are so many factions all waging wars in said god's name and praying and the god jsut loses it. And about the other god where blood was shed in its name and that had weakened it and weakened it to the point where it couldn't do anything and it died leaving it's followers to commit heineous acts of violence in its wake and they didn't even know it was dead.

Well, the series is called The Malazan Book...Of The Fallen. The title itself should tip you off to the general tone of what's coming.
