Ian Cameron Esslemont is a close friend of Steven Erikson and is also the co-creator of the Malazan world. To date he has written one novella, titled Night of Knives and it deals with the night when the assasination attempt on Kellevand and Dancer took place.

A review on the novel can be found here
http://www.malazanem...read.php?t=3087

The novel can be purchased from Clarkesworld Books, and has been published in three different versions.
www.clarkesworldbooks.com/bookl_ESSKNITR.html - Out of Print
www.clarkesworldbooks.com/bookl_1904619193.html - Hardcover signed by Steven Erikson and Ian Cameron
http://www.clarkeswo..._ESSNIGHTT.html - Trade Paperback

The only other information we have recieved to date about the 5 novels to be written by Cam is that novel 1 is titled "Return of the Crimson Guard" and the story takes place a little after the story in Bonehunters and that it will be as long as the novels written by Steven Erikson. No other information is avaliable.

MalazanEmpire.com conducted an interview with him and can be found here
http://www.malazanem...read.php?t=2310

More information will be added as it becomes avaliable. And just as a side note, we commonly refer to him as Cam or ICE on the forum.

Update - It seems PS and ICE are in talks for a paperback version of Night of Knives. The deal is close to being finalized, so perhaps in a few months a paperback version of Night of Knives will be hitting a book shelf near you:D

As most of you have probably heard by now Transworld has signed ICE to a 2 book deal. They'll be publishing Night of Knives in Hardcover sometime next year, possibly Spring/Summer and they have also signed Return of the Crimson Guard and hope to release it sometime 2008. So looks like all planned 15novels are on their way...give or take a decade:p
