My major goal this year is to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks in July, and raise as much as I can in sponsorship for the charity who provided my counselling in the process.

Other than that it's less measurable and more just a general keep working on moving forward, keeping up the good habits and letting go of the bad ones. I'm still learning to manage my anxiety and the after effects of the trauma, but really I'd just like to be able to say this time next year that I'm further along in learning to deal with it day to day. Come at me 2019! :(

Well - smashed the YTP walk inside the challenge time and raised over £1,300 for the charity (with some help from you lovely folks on here!)

And I'm pleased with the general progress too, the anxiety is much more under control and I can't actually remember the last time I had what I'd call a proper episode. Getting in the gym regularly and just being generally fitter and healthier seems to have had a good knock on effect the mental health side of things too. I can say with some satisfaction 2019 was the year of turning it all round, and it's the foundation to now build from :)

Didn't make any New year's goals this year but around March I got into a reading frenzy and decided it was time to get back into books, what with me working in a library.

I set a goal that I wanted to at least read a book a week for the rest of 2019. Looking at the Excel sheet I made, I've read 83 books in seven months. Which is around three books a week.

Might be the highest number of books I've read in a year total.

Think I'm going to shoot for a 100 books next year.

I've got to do something about the hours I work and levels of stress it inflicts. I don't understand it as on paper I have an extremely cushy set up - I'm home based so no commute apart from 1 day a week when I go to the office, my contract is 4 1/2 days per week condensed into 4 days so I can spend one day a week with the sprog. So much happened in 2018 in our industry and our business that I've done lots of 5 day weeks and a bit of overseas travel which means the whole childcare/part time working juggle has been constantly crazy and I was working lots of late nights and a grumpy bitch every weekend. The amount of change in the industry and my experience means I could probably take the leap into consultancy and work for myself but I'm kind of scared to. I like a regular income, paid sickness and holiday especially with having a small kid so it's not the right time but I have all this accrued knowledge that I could be selling for my own benefit rather than a company that ultimately takes me for granted. I'm very frustrated. If I can just get my working hours under control...

Well I certainly did something. I got so run down that my insides ruptured and I had emergency surgery and have been generally unwell since July. Happy to report I am healthy right now as of about last Monday but it needs to last another few days to make a record run of good health of over a week in the last 6 months. As a consequence I'm kind of dialling it in at work and don't really give a shit.

Sadly I don't think this really equates to success. I did get to use that paid sickness leave though.

Get a new job.

Not a new job as such, but as reported elsethread I'm going back to Brisbane to a much smaller, lower-tempo unit. So that's all to be placed in the "win" column.

I also got some info about a reasonable job I could jump straight into if and when I get a sufficient case of the shits with my current gig. Hopefully less chance now, but it's nice to have an option B or C.

I would probably have left earlier if the benefits in this job weren't so damn sweet.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I can recall typing stuff in this thread. But there's no post.

let's blame that on the fact that the year's been kinda chaotic. Yes, that sounds like a wonderful idea.

I'm on the verge of getting rid of my student loan, though, so that's an accomplishment of sort (I guess).
