Are there any cool new emotes? Not that they would sway one's decision to purchase Destiny 2, but sometimes it's the little things.

I can remember running one of the cooperative options (Raid, Strike etc) and between rounds I would activate my "dab" emote and one of the guys I was playing with would activate his Drake, "Hotline Bling" dance emote. For some reason I got a kick out of that. There was something absurd about barely escaping with our lives to come back out to the staging spot and stand in front of each other and activate those specific emotes. Like I said, sometimes it's the little things. Posted Image

Not that I've seen but they appear to have varied up the "sit" action between classes more. Titans take a knee, at least.

That seems better. A Titan would probably always take a knee. A Warlock should just probably go into a crossed legged yoga position and hover. And the Hunter should probably just squat down and go into a "cat hunting" type position, like he/she was going to pounce. Posted Image

So I was watching a YouTube video of some glitches found in the beta. Some of them are present in Destiny 1. You'd think those would have been logged in the CLCA and addressed by Bungie before making the Destiny 2 beta public..... smh.

Frankly given this game is so iterative on top of Destiny 1 that I'd have expected it to be almost bug-free. I mean, their entire team can't have been composed of writers, stat tweakers, and texture artists... >.>

Okay, another notch on the reasons to not buy (or at least wait to buy) Destiny 2. They are using the asinine COD model of tying XP and gear extras to purchases of junk. SMDH.

Damn, how time flies and how dates sneak up on you. Destiny 2 drops next week.

meh. I'm probably going to wait until the price is at least cut in half until (possibly) I give it a try. And then, it depends if I'm bored enough to play it. Of course, if it has stellar reviews then I may just buy it from the start. Dunno really. I'll just have to play the waiting game to see if something pulls me in, but so far what I've seen from the beta, there is nothing making want to play this game right away.

Not particularly feeling the grenade launcher at all!

Did my 1st Public event ugh by myself...where is the population at? It's dead in the EDZ. Would have figured the game would be packed in all servers. Maybe I'm just not in a popular spot right now.

I take my liking SMGs back a bit. No stability/range on any I have gotten yet.

Man the weapons and grenade sounds are so crisp over D1!

Well if it's anything like D1 then most public events will be yourself and maybe two other people if you're lucky. XD

I personally am without internet at the moment but I think many people are waiting. The beta didn't sell the game very well. And a lot of people will be getting D2 on PC over console now. And it's not exactly a weekend, either. XD

Mute Guardian is reallllllly getting to me now. They give the toon facial expression and body language and just as it seems it's on the verge of speaking the Ghost talks. This is frustrating as hell as D1 starts with Guardian being able to speak. I just don't see the point of this route.

Also I just a sniper rifle and it's power/special slot. I DO not like this!! They better have other slots for this gun or that's gonna cramp my style in PvP! I was an ace with these in D1.

I might cry

I've got bad news for you... And also that you're the last person on the planet to get that memo. XD

My brother and I have been talking about taking up another co-op shooter to play together. We've previously done all the halo games and all the gears of war games, playing through the campaign mostly. So, what is the Destiny 2 campaign like, is it actually worth playing through for the storytelling?

I've heard good things. I've also heard that it was "made to be played solo", so no idea if it's actively worse in coop or anything.

So, on the bs shader system - I've seen a lot of people defending it. Most of the arguments go like this:
1. You get heaps of Shaders once you reach endgame
2. Just save your shaders and don't use them on blues/until you have the armor you want.
3. It's just cosmetic!

Now aside from the fact that #3 is not a defense anyway (people like cosmetic gear - if they didn't, games wouldn't sell them or include cosmetic options at all, so don't act like they aren't important to some people), it is also undermined by the microtransactions for gear mods which are NOT just cosmetic.

#1 - I find this a laughable argument because it tells me that people haven't thought the issue through. They're reacting on emotion, knee-jerk responses because they don't care, or because they are blinded by their fandom. The problem with it is this: if there are so many shader drops that it doesn't matter and you have excess copies, then why do that system in the first place?
This particular argument defeats itself by essentially saying that the system doesn't do anything. If the drops are so common as to make them unlimited use... Then why not make them unlimited use and reduce the drop rate slightly?
Next: this runs afoul of rarer drops. Raid shaders, event shaders, whatever are not going to be so common. So if you want them you end up back at the fundamental problem of them encouraging you to spend real money (or waste time grinding) to get what you want. So it fails on multiple levels.

#2 - I think this argument is really telling. It tells me that the people making the argument are missing an even more fundamental flaw than the people making argument 1. If your response to something being expendable is "just don't use it unless you have the legendary armor you want", it shows the flaw that has existed since Destiny launched. It's too easy to get legendary armor. So-called legendary armor isn't legendary. It's the default. It's common. It's what you're supposed to have. And that's a much bigger failing of Destiny than people want to admit.
Dismissing peoples concerns about wasting items on lower tier gear by just saying "wait five minutes until you get the good stuff" shows just his shallow Destiny 2's loot pool is. As always, greens and blues are essentially trash garbage you're expected to use for five minutes then discard because you have something better. Not only does this highlight a problem with the loot grind and skinner box nature of Destiny, it clearly shows the fundamental lack of care Destiny gives towards progression and more importantly - customisation. It tells me that D2 hasn't learned any lessons from D1 on that front.
It also, again, ignores the fact that some gear, like the Raid set, is not so easy to obtain if you want specific pieces. So how long should those people wait? How long should they go around with poorly coordinated armor? Or are we just going to do away with the pretense and acknowledge what some of these people are saying is 'filthy casuals don't deserve proper customisation because I play 20 hours a week and can grind until I get what I want easily'?

Anyway. Rather than getting into pointless Facebook flame wars over it figured I'd just post here. :D

That last statement is so freakin' true, like seriously that attitude is pervasive in any game where such a system exists. The ironic thing is, you'd think that such people would be the ones most actively against microtransactions, since such a system is the only thing that would allow a 'filthy casual' to have the stuff a hardcore player would if they were inclined to pay just to get there. There are people out there as well who'd get enjoyment out of undermining the so-called 'accomplishments' of skilled, 30-hour a week fanboys, by paying for everything and laughing at how butthurt they get. How anyone can defend a system by essentially saying it's unnecessary is baffling levels of fanboyism.

Oh yes. Io is VERY pretty! Kinda D1Venus like though but the yellows are very bright. They actually did a great job getting the look of this place right with real photos especially on approach.

I'm not sure exactly when your supposed to get a Sparrow? I'm getting tired of walking everywhere.

Apparently they deliberately held back on Sparrows for most of the campaign or something.

Yeah, pretty sure it was 3. It's another thing that has been moderately frustrating to veterans, though it makes thematic sense I guess.

Plus I have my suspicions that it's meant to make the maps seem artificially bigger. A valid tool of the trade, to be sure, but not ideal.

I've read and seen Youtube vids that state Bungie/Craptivision wanted players to "take their time" going through the story so they don't miss anything, so that is why the sparrow is not available until you've finished the story. I guess there is the rare drop or something where you can attain one prior to finishing the story, but yeah, they want you to walk through everything initially.

What a crock of shit if you ask me. If they created a world like Horizon Zero Dawn, players would WANT to take their time to explore. Shitty design leads to shitty excuses, which is shitty for everyone.

As far as I know they're a gimmick. Like, maybe if you're in the top 10 twitch shooters in the world kind of category you might notice an improvement but outside of pro level play at most they'll make you think they're helping. Placebo effect and all that.
