Spoiler
I admit i was a bit thrown off by Amazon having their own beast.
....jk.... i hlf expected 'prime' to refer to the best cut of beast to bbq... after heartsick it wouldn't have been a surprise...
I enjoyed this chapter. Til now the running question of whether the narrator is part Beast has been kind of annoying, in the sense that she's more interesting as a detached novelist/failed cryptozoologist than as someone desperately searching for her origins and thus making the story about her.
Despite that, i liked the way her search took her into the Prime Beasts' world and she paralleled it with the love story she was writing. The earbook narrator handled the story shift very nicely. The love story was curiously endearing... that Prime Beast's complete and utter failure at crime turning into a relationship w the grocery clerk. I never bought that the narrator was in jeopardy, but everyone else certainly was. Even Joon despite his sudden black belt status.
This was a solid chapter ... it lacked the horror or sheer wtf elements of Sorrowful or Joyous or Sacrificial but instead provided an interesting story of a Beast culture interacting with humans.
