Cause if you remove the s in https it should embed itself. Otherwise put

around the address.

Anyway... Ehhhhh. I am not exactly blown away by this trailer. The graphics are okay'ish but nothing mindblowing. I found the abandoned house to be not that amazing looking. The animation on the dog and the character movement is... Meh. But of course we are almost certainly talking about a game with the scope of Skyrim. Everything isn't going to look like Crysis 4.

But when they started to actually show the environment I perked up a bit. My main complaint about the FO3 and FO: New Vegas was that the environment was pretty boring, being a wasteland and all. This how ever. Entire cities? Large historic structures? Much better designed monstrosities?

This has some promise.

I am curious about the age we are in. I don't care how well we built our houses, a normal structure that isn't made out of concrete and steel is not going to be standing 200 years from now, the interior will be completely fucked over. So are we in an earlier age?

Similarly, the flashbacks to before the nuclear winter makes me think that they are going to be telling a story that links the past to the future. Otherwise why bother animating all that?

It looked to me that we may be dealing with a vault that was not sealed in time. So the gameplay may exist in a time frame and immediately after the bomb blasts and going forward from there.

I don't think the ps4 will have the same issues with Bethesda games as the ps3

Cool, this will be fun. Kind of hope Obsidian gets another chance at making a Fallout game in the future, though. I've never been a huge fan of Bethesda's writing. Especially being in the midst of The Witcher 3 now, I think open world games really need to step up in terms of storytelling.

From the trailer alone, looks *extremely* similar to Fallout 3. But I did enjoy Fallout 3.

I am really excited for this. However a voiced protagonist is really going to hamper my role play.

Hopefully they have a few voice options.

Just watched the Bethesda E3 Showcase - or the Fallout 4 plus a bit on some other things too Showcase - love the idea of building up your own settlements (plural) from scratch in Fallout 4, from walls to power generators to furniture, and linking them all up.

So, erm. Bump.

I'm getting an XBone next month so that I can get this. It releases on my Birthday and I've a week off then, so...

Interested to see what people's expectations are? The moddable weapons looks good (as in, here's a core laser unit, add this to make it a pistol, add this to make it a rifle, etc).

My excitement is surprisingly low. Not really sure why, I loved Fallout 3 and Skyrim.

I think my main concern is that it's STILL the same stupid engine they are using for the game. I know they supposedly were "done" this summer and are just polishing the game now but I still expect the game to be littered with bugs, have awkward character animations and antiquated quest design.

I am also pretty weary of apocalyptic wastelands. I remember finding it pretty stupid that human beings hundreds of years after civilization fell still hasn't built new houses, new cities and created kingdoms or city states.

And yet on the other hand, it's an open world shoot people in the face simulator. My favorite pass time.

I am thrilled about the promise of an open world that is supposedly 3 times the size of the rather meaty Skyrim. I also love the footage they've shown of you decked out in power armor mowing down people with a chain canon.

Actually almost zero hype for this, tbh. Bethesda doesn't do a good enough Fallout game for me to be that excited at the best of times, but like Apt I am expecting bad animations and poor quests. Probably not the best world building either.

That being said my lack of interest means I've barely paid any attention to it. I'll pick it up, probably, but I'm not going to be a launch day customer, for sure.

Bloody Mess will be a perk*. Need I say more?

*conjecture, but it's been in every game in the series thus far

As to the comment about new houses, etc - Megaton was a new build. One made of rusty corrugated iron, granted, but still.

Megaton was the equivalent of a homeless persons cardboard box.

I get that cities in these kinds of games are actually sort of make believe because they can't afford to design thousands of houses and city streets, etc. but seriously. At some point somebody begins to rebuild, make new brick walls, make wood floors, paving the streets, etc. Seriously, the interiors of the houses in Fallout looked like the poor person edition of hoarders.

From screenshots I've seen, it looks like this is actually being addressed somewhat. There's what looks to be some form of large market in the midst of a busy settlement (sort of like that first town from Rage).

I also really do hope that Tabitha and Ronda make an appearance, helping us take the fight to the Dumb-Dumbs.

So, I was a bit late in watching the E3 trailer, but a few thoughts from that:

1) Shelter certainly seems as though it were preparation for how the new HP/RD system will work (rads capping health and all that). It's going to make it pretty challenging to fight in irradiated areas now, where before you could just hop up on Rad-X and Radaway.

2) the DIY look/feel of a lot of the weapons seems to be a good move forward - Fallout 3 had the right idea with hodgepodge guns made out of scrap, and things like the Pipe Gun and Laser Musket are looking to give everything a bit more authenticity than 'oh, here's a 200 year old plasma rifle that's not been serviced, and it works perfectly!'.

3) I quite like the idea of enemies having behaviour based on where they are - Radscorpions popping out of the ground, for example. It'll certainly make combat more interesting.

Yeah, I broke down and preordered Fallout 4 the other day. I wasn't sure if that was a good idea or not. But after hearing this theme, I think I may have done the right thing

Screw you all, and have a nice day!
