Hey guys!

Don't know if it's the final blurb or a tentative one, but just received the new 2014 Transworld catalogue and posted the blurb for Assail here!

Cheers,

Patrick

i feel its a shame that some of the malazan worlds most interesting points are being handled by ICE rather than SE, an example is the fate of traveller

I'm not sure that blurb fits with what we know of Assail.

1. There is an ongoing battle between T'lan I'mass and humans, and the humans are winning (!).
2. Bars was already there and had to flee. He should know a lot about Assail.
3. Kyle is from a nearby place, and he used to hang with some guys who were from Assail proper.
4. There was some comment about "the tyrants of Assail and their mad games" or something like that. Also some hint of trying to reach godhood I believe. (But that might have been referring to Jacuruku.)

None of those things fits well with thousands of years of ice melting, gold, nor with nonhuman beings. The most compelling thing about Assail for me has been the idea that HUMANS were able to drive away both CG and I'mass. Though SE's Assail characters so far have given a hint of their innate power that might make it possible. So why, then, the need for superbeings?

As for convergence. Silverfox must be there of course, along with the extra I'mass who've never been seen before. But so should Kyle and his Assail buddies. I can't remember--did the Seguleh arc finish with OST or was there still something they were looking for?
