Okay, we be in Now-vemba. And the BRRUUUUUUUUUUUMMM! buzz is starting to make my eardrums vibrate.

So the latest I've read is the controller for the PS5 is going to blow minds. People are playing that little alien game that ships with it and are all like - what-da-whaaaa! about how the controller has incorporated next level haptic feedback. A vid: https://twitter.com/...794690572816389

And holy cow, that new footage of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales looks fan-fucking-tastic. I haven't played the first Spider-Man game, but sheesh they've done a flawless job of changing up the look and movement of Spider-Man to match the Into the Spider-Verse version of Spider-Man. It's really something.

And deary me, that latest Demon's Souls gameplay trailer. Well, it speaks for itself.

Immersion.

Hopefully developers will lean in hard and incorporate these features of the PS5. If done right I can see some amazing things coming up. Or it could be a disappointment like the touch pad on the current PS4 controller. I think Ghost of Tsushima is really the only game I've played on the PS4 that used the touchpad capability in a way that made playing GoT a powerful experience. And that occurred at the very end of the console generation. So the touchpad was a big meh, imo.

A feel for the game Sony's big bet is that what's good for developers will be great for players.

I haven't seen any demos of the sound/audio yet (not sure how that can really be done, cept for someone describing it), or any write-ups about it yet. But there has been some teasing talk that the sound and audio on the PS5 is supposed to be next-level amazing.

I'm questioning how widely adapted the Dual Sense features will be by mulpi-plats, since they're also targeting M+K on PC that's not gonna have any of the fancy things.

For that reason I don't see these features becoming "integral" to games. Niceoptional features, sure. But having a lot of games built around them? I somehow doubt it.

I beat the current end boss of Hades enough times to get an ending with credits and a song and everything. Though it very clearly is not the ENDING. Still lot of game left as it turns out, though some things have changed quite a bit. Great game still!

I have found, I think, what I consider the strongest combination of boons. Zevs and Poseidon can get a duo power that every time someone is hit with a knock back effect (basically all of Poseidon's attack powers) they're also hit with lightning. If you also get the different passive bonuses to knock back effects, and to lightning effects, it gets absolutely ridiculous. Towards the end I also got a legendary effect that made knock back effects hit three times. The final boss didn't have time to fight at all.

If I had my druthers it'd be God of War: Ragnarok for me, but I don't think I can hold out getting the console until then. Can you imagine if they made that liquid crack with a heroin chaser of a game a launch day title? There'd be riots.

As it sits right now, I can see me playing one of the PlayStation Plus Collection games that will be available. There's a lot of them so not sure which one would tickle my fancy to play first. I do have to say that Spider-Man: Miles Morales looks fantastic, but I feel I need to play the first game before getting into that one. Also, I am a Black Ops I fanboy and Black Ops Cold War is supposed to be a direct line drawn from that into the 1980s era US-Soviet dick waving/measuring contest craziness, so that could be something I play first depending on how it is received. Zombie Ronald Reagan is going to happen, yeah? Its just gots to.

If you get the fancy edition of Miles Morales, it comes with a PS5 version of Spider-Man + Season Pass

Diablo 3 with all the goodies was under $20 finally so I picked it up. Smashing looting goodness.

Any of you ever play the remastered Baldurs Gate or Neverwinter Nights on console? They’re both around $50 so I won’t get them anytime soon, just wondering.

Morbid: The Seven Acolytes is coming December 3rd!

I am finally getting a new gothic top-down RPG a la Blood Omen!

I played the Steam demo and it was fantastic in terms of atmosphere and visual design (souls-like combat was okay).

I am legit more excited for this than Cyberpunk right now.

Curious to know. Any forum members going to get a PlayStation 5 on launch day? Other then size and preparing your game space for that, what other potential 'gotchas' are you ready for or anticipate? Things like television, headphones/sound, internet connectivity, cords, etc. I'm really interested to know and hope early owners of the new console share their experiences, so us late guys don't have to deal with so many headaches. I probably won't be able to get one day 1 and I'm also sort of hoping There quickly becomes a way to get the PS5 and the controller with different colours.

I would have liked to, but the preorders are limited. So I'll buy it when it becomes available.

YouTuber YongYea describes the controller feedback. I will have to get in in my hands and decide for myself, but it sounds pretty damn cool. And of course developers will have to deliver games that incorporate it for maximum effect.

Finally pulled the trigger on ordering a gaming PC:

AMD Insanity 2 – Nvidia RTX 3080/3090

Motherboard:
ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING (WIFI)

GPU RTX:
GEFORCE RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X RAM

RAM:
Kingston HyperX Fury 32GB (2-KIT) DDR4 3600MHz CL17

Processor:
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X op til 4.7 GHz 12 kerner 24 tråde (ny generation)

CPU Og Vandkøling:
DARK ROCK 4 (Praktisk talt lydløs) 21DB

SSD:
SAMSUNG 970 EVO plus 1000GB M.2 Read Speed: 3.5GB/s - Write Speed: 3.3GB

HDD:
3000GB HDD SATA

Strømforsyning 80+:
Seasonic FOCUS GX 850W - 80+ Gold modular - 10 års Producent garanti

OS (Windows):
Windows 10 Home 64bit DK - Installeret og klargjort

------

Wasn't cheap. Wasn't as expensive as I feared. Around 3100 USD.

Guy I talked with told me I shouldn't expect to be able to pick it up before Christmas. They already have 60 customers waiting.

Now I'm sort of itching to buy a console in the meantime. PS5 probably won't be available for anyone before December.

So, I'm eyeing that Series X. It's probably telling that the PS5 sold out in 30 minutes here in Denmark but the Series X and S are both still available on every online store.

For any guardians who still play Destiny 2, seek out video of the live event that went down Monday night. Shit is bonkers. The flippin Traveler healed, and portions of the map (I think you know which) had the darkness seep across and shroud those areas and the Traveler smacked it back from continuing to spread. Beyond Light might be good. Want to see reception from critics though.

Sounds cool. Happy to hear that the traveller is stirring. I don't like one sided narratives where there's no devine counter to the great evil.

Still I'm keeping away from the game till I either get a hold of a PC or a PS5. And probably also after I've played some of the good single player stuff coming out this fall.
