Just watched John Wick 4.

Amazing action film. Completely ridiculous plot but highly entertaining. So, so many henchpeople get killed in this movie, that I am legitimately worried for their trade. I hope they have great life insurance.

I can't help wishing this was made with Paul Verhovens liberal use of squibs instead of the more neutered digital blood spatter. Maybe in 10 years time and AI can make an enhanced version with extra gallons of blood.

You seen the film - Nobody? If you haven't, worth a watch all things considered...

Nobody was awesome.

Nobody 2 is in the works!!!!
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I watched Nobody a couple of nights ago, great film! Really love the genre "massively ott action that doesn't take itself too seriously"

Who is the target market for Barbie? I have never seen a movie I am less interested in, or could understand less.

I saw Mario last night. Was fun, has a few Easter eggs, probably many more I didn’t catch. The plot starts strong but for me ends weak. Doubt I’ll ever watch it a second time.

There same people who were the Demo for THE BRADY BUNCH, or hell even SUPER MARIO....it's nostalgia porn for the people who grew up with Barbie. And will probably succeed at least as decently as those did. They are revisiting childhood memories with tongue placed FIRMLY in cheek. I expect the plot of BARBIE will be Barbie and Ken (and maybe some others) leaving "Barbieland" into the real world, and discovering the real world sucks and trying to get back to Barbieworld...and knowing Greta Gerwig, it will end on a smash cut. ;)

I also think it's intensely hilarious that it's releasing the same day/weekend as Nolan's OPPENHEIMER....like you could double feature BARBIE and OPPENHEIMER....LOL.

It would be rude not to.

Took my nephew to watch Super Mario Bros, I actually enjoyed it, decent popcorn flick that was never going to be about the story but is good fun... plus he had an absolute blast too though it's all I heard for the next five four hours or so.

I read the director said "the demographic we're aiming at is really golf range owning Irish chaps with huge hands" so I think you're ok.

Last night I watched Last Night in Soho, Edgar Wright's psychological thriller, and it was brilliant. Really tense & suspenseful, and honestly I think I'm coming to the point where I'll watch anything with Anya Taylor Joy in it. She is just sublime.

Everything everywhere all of the Oscars.

Totally bananas film.

A fun watch and very clever throughout, with some excellent performances.

A few proper bust of laughing funny parts.
Up to the hype? Unsure but enjoyable

I already sort of thought this back around EMMA but was kind of unsure...but then I watched NEW MUTANTS (which she was incredible in) and that sold me that I'll watch anything with her in it, and cannot WAIT for FURIOSA!

I watched The Happytime Murders for a brain-off type of movie, and now I can't turn my brain back on. 0 stars!

That movie was terribly written, and was not even fun from a "shut your brain off" POV for me....a great idea for a premise, utterly wasted. I expected more of Brian Henson frankly. It should come as little surprise that the writer wrote it based off a short film he made in University...it probably should have stayed there.

I had assumed Henson was the screenwriter too, and when I saw he wasn’t, I heard a thousand foot gong sound itself in the far distance. I didn’t heed this omen, and the results speak for themselves.

Finally sat down to watch ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL. It was good, not great. It's DEFINITELY what I would expect a live action version of a manga/anime property would look like with Robert Rodriguez at the helm. There were lots of good to great scenes, and while Rosa Salazar did her best, the fact that everyone else was CGI'd onto robots parts, and she was mo-capped to be completely CGI'ed in face to mimic the big-eyes of anime started to irritate me when like the 3rd cyborg with only a human face started to show up....There's no reason for Rodriguez to do that and it feels like an intense waste of money, and a waste of Salazar's acting to not have her actually be present in the role and instead have her be a cartoonish head just to pay homage to the comic...and from what I understand James Cameron's idea was that she would look like the rest and it was Rodriguez who came up with the full CGI's mo-capped thing...and it stands out throughout the movie. She feels not remotely as real as everyone else does, and feels deliberately uncanny valley.

The story was fine, and action was fine, and even the direction was fine...but yeah...it just kind of is. I wish it had been better.

eDIT: Oh and Ido's "jet hammer" thing did NOT translate well in live action. What an utterly stupid weapon for him to use. It looked fine in the anime, but as a live action prop....yikes.

Looks better than 9....and that's saying a lot. As someone who loves this series in general, but HATED 9....at least this looks like it's having fun again.
