Haven't seen much discussion on this topic, but was the female general in the Army of Reform Dunsparrow from The Bonehunters, who left with Leoman to join the Queen of Dreams? Considering the link to the QoD and the few hints dropped when discussing her past with Ivanr it was the only fit I could think of.

Well there's a thought. What hints do you refer to?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

From my reading she was apart of Greymane's original invasion force's command staff. I am also interested in your clues.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Yeah, it was more than strongly intimated that she was one of Greymane's commanders from the original Malazan invasion force. But what I want to know is, who put on her armour once she died to rouse the troops? I don't think that was ever explained, or I missed it.

Verdict: Not Dunsparrow.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

It was glossed over and never actually nailed down who she was or what happened to her after she died. Its one of those vague hints that ICE could have put in to the book, thus making the book alot easier to understand and it wouldnt really have spoiled anything either, but he chose not to do so. Not Dunsparrow though the age seems off.
