Okay, I don't actually give a shit about Smash Mouth, I just wanted to make you click the title.
Anybody been following the Jon Sudano youtube account?
He's been doing covers of Smash Mouth's amazing All Star track for a couple months now and he cracks me up every time. It's such a stupid gimmick yet he just keeps going.
I want this guy to reach some kind of global awareness level where some dumb idiot puts him on stage in a stadium just filled to the brim with people singing along with him.

I'm not sure if I should feel like this is cool, or the sad commentary on the repetitive, 4-chord nature of modern music.
Worry, your vid made me chuckle. Never saw the video (I somehow grew up in a complete bubble when it came to music videos in the 90s and 00s. Could that be the reason I was socially awkward for so long?)

Psychology 101 says this is the response from someone who actually did listen to Smash Mouth back in the day, but is now embarrassed to admit it. Come on Apt, those of us who were old enough to sit in a pub back in the 90s and hear their songs come on a jukebox were all like "hey guys, you hear this latest hit yet? I'm kinda diggin on it". Just admit you at least used to enjoy this song along with Walkin' on the Sun back in the awesomeness that was 90s cheestastic pop music (it's destroys anything that passes for hits now imo).

I don't mind Smash Mouth at all, like many other people I heard their hits on the radio or on MTV and liked their singles. But I never really went out of my way to hear more of their stuff. My opening was more of a comment on a tendency I some times see on the internet to hate on Smash Mouth, much like Nickelback.
There's definitely a kind of fondness or noastalgia for those 90s and 00s pop rock songs. Offspring and Blink 182 also come to mind.
