On the last page of Chapter 12, Hanako and Lasa come upon a "gaunt, wizened, and mostly hairless" Azathani. He talks about the expanding universe and how the "soul can free itself of the flesh, and so wing swift as thought into the reaches of space." Then he farts and talks about beans and rice.

Are we supposed to know who he is? An aged Old Man from FoD (who might be Old Man Moon from BaB)?

It could be old man Moon. His age might wax and wane in a cycle like the moon.
