I've basically lived alone for the last 8 years. How do you put up with the person "who can't shut up"?
Serious question; not joking.

I had a friend like that. I think doing your thing while they talk (ignoring them) is the best option.
1) They notice you aren't paying attention and stop. You win, the guy is probably mad.
2) They don't notice and keep on talking while you do your thing. win/win for both.
Of course it is possible that you cannot turn off annoying people, in which case my condolences to you.

My ride shows up in an hour and a half. Should I start doing laundry now?
I am a world-class procrastinator. The upside is that I did call yesterday to confirm my appointment. I'm betting that that doesn't happen often.

I dunno - how long does laundry take and how do you do it? It takes me 5 minutes to sort it for the machine then I walk away and come back when I can be bothered to hang it to dry. I suppose it could kill 90minutes.....
