You can follow the events as they are reported live here if you aren't near a TV:

I find it more likely that it's part 2 of the Charlie Hedboe attack. I worry about what is going to happen in Europe if these kinds of attacks keep escalating.

On Dutch news sites there are reports of suicide attacks and even decapitations at the football stadium

Indeed. This was a matter of time. Paris has a huge problem with disenfrenchised and disillusioned, marginalised minorities. Charlie Hebdo and the train incident were a sign on the wall. IS and Islam are just convenient excuses, although of course they share a core. No doubt that some or all of the attackers will link themselves to IS.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Hostage situation ended. Three gunmen dead and over 100 concert goers. Holy crap. Belgium have now also closed their borders.

Sad thing is, aside from having soldiers patrolling the streets day in day out, you can't prevent these sorts of events from happening.

having lived briefly in france i can also say they take security more seriously (guards with automatic rifles at the train stations etc)

At the same time though, France has a big problem with gun control. Having had that many firearms and explosives smuggled into Paris is seriously worrying.

Belgium not closed, apparently. I already thought that was odd. Four terrorists confirmed dead. No clue if that is all of them.

Yeah, six or seven sites. Football stadium where they played france vs germany, a restaurant where at least 20 people were shot, the louvre, the freedom sqare,...

Well, they werent all at the same time so some of the guys might be the same. At least one suicide bomber at the stadium earlier. So far 140 confirmed dead, but i fear the count won't stop there.
Parisians are opening their doors to stranded people through #porteouverte twitter feed.

I was just wondering where the hell did these people get so much armament. I had no idea the French had gun control problems too.
I'm just waiting for them to figure out who was responsible for the bombing.

France in theory has very strict gun control laws. But in practise they are struggling badly with actually monitoring guns flooding in especially from eastern Europe. The Hebdo shootings were with kalashnikovs and it appears the same is the case for this evening's shootings. Those guns are totally illegal in France, yet there they are. Might be due to the fairly open border policy on most of mainland Europe.
