Can't find a topic on this game but I know that a few people on the forum will probably play the Lego games or have at some point.

If you don't know anything about it, it is effectively like Disney Infinity but set in the Lego universe. Lego have managed to gain the rights to some very iconic franchises for the game such as - Midway Arcade, Portal 2, Back to the Future and Ghostbusters - to name but a few.

Me and my wife got the game for us and our son to play together and so far we are really enjoying it. Unlike other Lego games where you unlock character with studs as you go resulting in 100 characters (some pretty much useless or just re-skinned) you have to buy the character packs to unlock the character (like infinity/skylanders), this naturally adds to the price of the game but they also add a lot of extra content. For example in the 'main game' there are 14 levels which can essentially be completed with the 3 characters in the starter pack, however each franchise has an 'adventure world' which is only unlocked if you buy a character from that franchise, increasing the overall game time to 70+ hours.

So my questions is do you have it and what are your thoughts on the game so far?

It's on my Xmas list...and most especially because of the Doctor Who expansion!

Quick, they are releasing official Dr Who sets around November/December time.

Yup, I saw that.

I watched some people playing the DW expansion at the latest comic convention...it looked pretty sweet.

There are a few packs I'd consider getting, enough that I actually went and looked and got a little excited*

However

1) £80 for the base and £20+ per expansion.

2) Not for PC.

Seriously, what were they thinking?

I won't lie to you, the game is pretty expensive. But not only do you get the standard levels you also get up to 14 free roam areas, each of which is similar in size to the Lego Marvel free roam section (which is bloody big).

Granted t o100% the game or even to 100% a level you will need to sink a fair few quid into the packs but it does more than triple the gameplay value and the size of the game.

My house is a house where being a Lego fan is par of the course so we will most likely get everything for the game, but if you only want the bare minimum there are some forums which are trying to figure out the least that you need to buy to complete the game.
