Okay, so just seen this:

trailer

Looks just daft/interesting enough to intrigue me. Kung fu/western/post apocalyptic (i'm guessing that part) type thing.

So yeah, anybody else seen/heard of it?
meh. Link was dead :(

It looks hella dumb but in a way that might be awesome. So I suppose I have the same opinion.

pretty much yeah.

Just remains to be seen if they can pull it off, or it'll end up a crapfest like "man with the iron fists"

Decidedly stupid but a lot more interesting that the Walking Dead and any of the other post-apocalyptic stuff they mass produce now a days.

I find it a bit weird that the main character is some kind of ninja, though. Doesn't really fit into the rest of the Fantasy Baron/ American slave plantation setting but we'll see.

Maybe they're trying to get ahead of The Dark Tower while it pinballs back and forth between greenlit and cancelled.

Seeing commercials more commonly for it now. Haven't looked too much into it, but my hopes are up already :p

It should be noted that Daniel Wu as lead is all I need to be convinced to watch. The man is amazing, and I've been wathcing him in Hong Kong action flicks since 1999's GEN-X COPS. But add to that it's basically a Journey To The West allegory...I'm in like flynn.

It's loosely based on the Chinese novel JOURNEY TO THE WEST which is about a Tang Dynasty monk venturing West to (India) to seek out sacred texts and all the trials an tribulations and hardships involved.

It just sounds like they've ported the "West" into a post-apocalyptic southern American ladnscape.

Also, Mike Shinoda helped with the theme music...which makes it cool too.

But 6-hour long eps to begin with seems like a good solid low number to see if people get into it...and won't require a lot of commitment on the part of the viewer. Much like the original Walking Dead season.

They basically ran the SDCC trailer that Coco already posted...

but here are three shorter ones that cutdown about their characters which also aired last night:

Scroll down a bit and all three are laid out. Sorry, no embed.

After seeing the trailer I was reminded of the movie Knights with Kris Kristofferson.

It was good, but didn't knock me over. I'll be watching next week.

I figure this type of show needs an ep or two to build it's world.

I thought it was good. Looking forward to more.

Heh, I don't blame them, but I still chuckle to myself at AMC's antics to try and beef up the viewership and get people to notice the show.

Putting it between TWD & Talking dead so people are more likely to stick around. Also delaying the "next time on TWD" until the first commercial break of into the Badlands so some people who wouldn't have checked it out already see that first action sequence. :(

I think there was at least something else they did but can't really remember what.

I enjoyed it. Visually, it was well executed, with some great fight scenes. Plot, it was all just setting things up for the rest of the show, but the details seemed interesting enough.

Watched the first ep, liked it.

Am a bit underwhelmed at the kid's plot, but Sonny and Veil's story is interesting, and i like the supporting cast of Barons and family for the most part.

VERY nicely shot and staged, pretty to watch.

Also, Daniel Wu is immortal and doesn't age.

Watched Eps 1 & 2. They were cool. You can tell they are going for straight up Wushu mystical kung fu epic mingled with apocalyptic future and American south.

I like it, but mostly right now that's because Daniel Wu is excellent. I like the girl playing the Widow too...and the main Baron is the same guy who played Guy De Lusignan so deliciously in KINGDOM OF HEAVEN...so he's cool too.

I could do without the kid...but he may grow on me.

The Baron's son is just a dickhole.

The series needs like a mystical old man badass...

I'm curious about the other Baronies...as we've only seen the two so far.

I'm in for the time being as it's done everything it has set out to do quite well. It moves at a solid pace, and there is lots of worldbuilding going on.

All caught up. So really no development for M.K. since episode 1.

Sunny's I was brought into the Baron's Clipper program as a young man, developed into a weapon for baron, kill whomever (almost) he orders killed, yet I have a heart of gold, thing isn't really working for me.
