E3 Hype June 16-18 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo

I's about a month out but I just keep getting more hyped for this years show.

Bethesda just released a teaser for a trailer for Doom 4. It's stupid marketing hype and yet I am super pumped about it:



Fuck Fallout 4 give me DOOM.

Anyway to those who've not been keeping track, this years E3 list of conferences have ballooned:

Especially interesting are the Besthesda shows, the PC Shows and the Square Enix one.

Bethesda doesn't do conferences normally. Obviously the publisher has something up it's sleeve. Most rumors speculate the big announcement is Fallout 4. But Dishonored 2, Doom 4 and perhaps even Prey 2 are also likely to pop up. That's some serious names,

The PC ones is also interesting because it basically signals the PC platform having grown to the point that it's now a serious opponent to the consoles.

Square-Enix is probably just lots of Final Fantasy garbage but we might also see trailers and info for Tomb Raider 2, Deus Ex and Hitman.

Anyway, what are you looking forward to seeing this year?

Besides a Fallout 4 announcement I am hoping for something related to Red Faction, Darksides and Saints Row.

Honestly, I find myself feeling 0 hype right now.

I think it's a combination of the fact that I have much less gaming time nowadays AND the fact that I've been playing/have yet to play a whole bunch of awesome games lately. (just finished Pillars of Eternity, I have Witcher 3, which will take me forever to play through, and then the Dragon Age trilo, and then Arkham Knight comes out, and I still need to play Bioshock Infinite, and Dishonored)

Basically, my docket is full of quality as is. I'd like to hear on Prey 2 again, but from what I understand the original design's been scrapped, as Arkane are handling the development now.

Basically, I'm open to be pleasantly surprised (I'm sure I will be watching all the conferences anyway), but I'm not expecting to be.

I'm not so interested in all the sequels promised.

I wonder if they'll be anything about Ark:Survival. That along with No Man's Sky have piqued my interest.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I'm hoping for a No Man's Sky release date and subsequent 65daysofstatic album launch show in Manchester. Everything else is just nice bonus.

This looks kind of terrible. Looked more promising last E3.

Sort of looks like a mix between Shadowcomplex and Counterspy.

That intro had me hopping for something more Syndicate like but let's see. It is a Paradox game.

Ratchet and Clank looks gorgeous.


Adrift and Volume I'm intrigued by. I heartily enjoyed Thomas Was Alone.


But the one game I want to know more about above all others is No Man's Sky. It's the first game that's tempting me into buying day 1 since...since...well, ever! And it feels like I hardly even know anything about it!

Guardian (UK paper) has it on "very good authority" that The Last Guardian will be making an appearance. Reportedly Mark Cerny, the PS4 lead architect, is now heading development (he also led development on, uh, Knack).

Yeah, I will believe it when I see it. The Last Guardian is up there with Half-life 3 and Beyond Good and Evil.

For those looking for commentary and coverage for each day I can recommend:

The do a commentary over the conference (don't expect them to actually take that seriously) and in the days after the conference they do evening podcasts where people from the industry come in for a relaxed discussion on what they saw that day:

I really liked the reboot. It was clumsy, overly long, the combat was repetitive in the end but it was fun as hell. Not many other games where you get to slice demons to pieces in a first person shooter.

True that. My prediction is that TLG IS eventually released, gets good but not spectacular reviews, sells middling, and Team ICO is shut down. I would love to know the full story of what hapoened one day.

I was just watching the Last Guardian 2009 E3 trailer. It still looks extreme evocative but the environments and character movement has aged considerably. What was once an unimaginably impressive game now looks outdated.

Still that bird dog is an amazing creature.
