Just stumbled upon this at Butcher's site, while I was updating the timeline:

Quote

Next Up: “Down Town,” an original story with Harry and Molly set after “White Night,” also illustrated by Carlos Gomez!

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

That doesn't sound so original. He's used those characters before!
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Read it.
Better than GOBLIN GHOUL, not as good as WAR CRY. Decent start but fails to stick the landing, and really doesn't do much for Downtown as a setting.
Nice enuf art tho'.

Yeah, I got it with birthday money back in October (as I do.) I'd probably put it on par with WAR CRY, but I didn't find either of them to be particularly memorable. (GHOUL/GOBLIN has a certain charm to it that puts it solidly #2 for me.)
