Thought this game deserved its own thread. I saw in the "been playing" thread that a few of us have bought it.

I want to hear your Far Cry 4 stories.

I was just trying to enter a Bell Tower when a karma mission popped up. I sneak through the bushes and see a guard escorting a hostage. I sneak up behind him and stabbed him and released the prisoner. The guy thanks me and I have just turned around to go back to the tower when I hear a "CAW" sound. Fucking eagle swooped down and killed the guy a second after he thanked me for saving his life.

Then I got assaulted by a wild hog. Had to seek refuge inside the tower. Fucking eagles.

One time I saw an Eagle swoop down and lift what I thought was a Honey Badger of the ground. I shot it out of the air because I needed some Badger skins. Turned out it was a pig it flew off with. An entire pig. I mean, that pig was three times the size of that bird. What the fuck?

Does FC4 have copy/paste towers and enemy camps like 3, or is there a bit more variety? It's looking good from what I've seen though.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

They are copy paste in the sense that the formula is the same. How ever the Bell Towers are more elaborate than the radio towers and the outposts have become a bit more dangerous now that they have mortars that they can use to shell your sniping position.

There are also 4 fortresses, which are bigger and harder than the average outpost.

This game is fantastic. It takes everything awesome in 3 and ramps it up to 11. The map looks unbelievably huge, too.

And enemies can now retake outposts. Plus you can replay them. And reset them.

Grappling hook is cool, I just wish it was more...flexible. Using it only on grapple points makes sense gameplay/design wise, but is frustrating when I can see a route but not use it.

Glorious.

I ran into a fight between a tiger and a bear today. They actually took time to create proper wrestling animations for a tiger and bear fighting. I was so impressed I almost didn't throw a molotov cocktail at them. But I did and it was glorious.

Wondering if my desktop can do this. With 4 GB ram, an intel i5 CPU, quadcore, 2,67 GHz and a radeon 5770 videocard I do seem to have the minimal specs, but I'm not sure if I have to cancel most of the details. On the other hand, updating my videocard (and the inevitable DA inquisition that comes with that) will ruin my social live for months.

I really want to play this but I think I'm going to be too busy with Dragon Age: Inquisition which is fantastic

I made it into the North. The difficulty made a big spike when I met the Elite Royal Guard. Those fuckers will take you out easily if you're not careful. I was skulking around the countryside trying to avoid them for a while.

That situation turned around after I unlocked all the towers. You get a signature LMG that kills ANYTHING in short bursts. Heavy soldiers go down immediately, you can even shoot helicopters out of the sky in 2-5 seconds by just emptying the gun at the cockpit.

That thing will kill anything. A+++ would buy and kill again.

Lol, I've got the Vector-based signature SMG that followed us from 3. It puts down Rhinos. And does so with such impact that the bullets actually go through the beast and out the other side.

Ridiculous.

I've just about cleared the entire south-mid region. I get the feeling I'm behind on my campaign missions though...need to get through those to unlock the north so I can do more outposts...

Shangri-La is interesting. Neat scenery, tough enemies, but very linear paths. It makes for a change from the normal stuff.
