Was there any clue to what happened/will happen with the K'Chain Nah'ruk? I thought Erikson would continue this subplot in tCG - at the end of the DoD, they suffered a defeat, but supposedly they had many other armies in the warren they occupied, waiting until they can again open the gate to human world. Instead it's barely mentioned, and at the end, everybody has seemingly forgotten about the threat of Nah'ruk invasion. Or did I miss something?

The Azath that Icarium/Sulkit/Errant's Eye (or whatever Feather Witch contributes) create kinda corked up the KCNR path to the world.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Yep. They needed to bleed Eleint blood to make those pathways for objects as large as the Skykeeps to move through. The few skykeeps that weren't roasted by Grub and Sinn are going to be tooling around in the Imperial Warren for a while.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I initially thought that the Azath closed only the portal they used at the end of the DoD. With the entire warren bottled, it makes sense we didn't hear about them anymore.

I also thought that it was mentioned that they would starve because they could not escape from the warren.

They probably eat each other's tails. That's why they're so short.

I have got my own take on this. Eventually the Nahruk understand that all violence is futile so they settle down in the deserts west of Kolanse to become moisture farmers. Then they adobt the orphan Grubb who is actually being hunted by the evil empire of Malick Rel. However when Grub grows up he meets a few old Bonehunters, goes ona series of wacky adventures and finally overthrows the evil emperor and becomes its First Sword.

Is this before or after Grub finds out he is Malick's son?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Hey, in a way he is :) After all, Mallick sorta created the Chain of Dogs, or rather he made it 'ascend' by killing it, thereby creating Grub (maybe).
