Any of the mafia players know the game and how much like what is played here it is like? I played it the other day and it is rather fun

There are TONS of mafia-implemented-by-board/card-game games. Just based on the description, the one you are linking is fairly similar but striving to break things down into more "rounds" so there's no elimination within a single game... or something like that. Looks a bit unclear.

If you look on that page where it says "Family: Werewolf / Mafia" and click that, then in the Family page you can see in the Linked Items section the 50+ games that are in that family :)

Probably the closest thing to a meat-and-potatoes game played on this forum would be [url="http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/148280/8-bit-mafia%5D"8-Bit Mafia[/url]. On the other hand, you can pretty easily just make little explanations of the roles by hand for your players or just explain them vocally, and then just use regular playing cards for random role assignment. You don't need to spend $20 plus tax plus shipping to play a game that was made up by a russian guy for Saturday night college parties.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Don't listen to Drek. If you send me a check for 50 dollars I will create a brilliant game. Settings atmosphere and characters. All you will need to do is to to pass out the 3*5 cards with the information and keep track of who did what to whom. I will even include a limited edition set of dice that you can use to help determine who gets what game role.

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!!!!

If you order now I will throw in a brand new collage ruled yellow note pad. This is totally brilliant for keeping track of who is doing what to whom.

PM me now to take advantage of this once in a lifetime offer.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Wow that looks like fancy bullshit. I was speaking about getting a stack of 3x5 cards out of my companies supply closet and a yellow legal pad and sending that. So much easier and total profit for me. :) I would (unless I wanted to be a total dick) put labels of characters on some of the 3x5 cards. Not all of course. Cause where is the fun in that. :)

Of course I also used to play Battleship with my grandmother using paper.

Vengy, you could totally break into the market, but you have to give it a personal touch.

Include a "nomenclature guidebook" filled with excellent vocabulary and advice for the creation of your own explosive rants.

The 'For ages 5-12' version would be completely unplayable, because half the guidebook would be censored.

The F word, the S word, both K words and the V word would be unacceptable. However, 'Murdering, conniving, bastard of a weasel!' would be the ultimate allowable insult.
