I ask this question because a representative of the new ownership was recently talking shit about Joomla, which I have a deep and abiding love for because I spent a ridiculous amount of time using it while putting together the current image rotation on the homepage and I all of a sudden felt paternal about it. However, I also noticed that nothing has changed, nothing seems to have been added to it. I think it's a mistake to go straight to the forums - I think you should spend a moment on the homepage and appreciate what has been put in place for you. And if you don't like it then change it but don't let it sit idle. This is your face to the unwashed masses - those precious innocents that google 'malazan' without the faintest clue what they're getting into. You should have an opinion about it.

I love the images matched to the quotes Mal I think that is brilliant. But I never liked the colors that are used on the front page though. I feel it looks to dark IMO.

Alright, so what would you suggest as an alternative? I view the whole site in the same colour scheme - I helped design it so I guess I'm more or less married to it but that doesn't stop me loving it. I know when Cougar comes to visit he uses a different skin and I have to admit, it baffles me. I accept that people have different tastes but I fucking love this skin.

So obviously I'm biased. And so is everybody that reads this - let me hear about your bias :p

I guess it comes down to taste really. I use the gray skin myself, there is less eye strain for me.

Wow, this is like going back in time! (viewing the grey skin) I don't dislike it though :p

I'm pleased to offer you the choice, unlike those tosspots at Westeros.

I'm pleased to note that all those user groups I created at a whim are still around :p Hold on - am I just publicly masturbating about how I feel about my contribution to this place? Possible, likely even. Sheesh. I just wish all of you loved it as much as I do..I guess.

midnight glow is pretty cool but I like a dark background which seems to be less than common.

I solely use the Imperial theme.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Kings of Drink! Whooosaaa motherfucker! I trust you have boned up on the brilliance of Ambrose Bierce since last I spoke with you?

ETA: the point being that the name 'Kings of Drink' comes from Ambrose Bierce's The Devil's Dictionary and HD here ought to know that by now :p

I'll take that as a no...moving on,

vote, bitches! even if it results in all that work I did being discarded (you wouldn't really do that to me though!), you should care one way or the other unless you think of this place in derogatory terms in your own head. I found my soulmate through this site so my affection is enduring.

All you cynical bastards, let's have it - I'm ready to take you on - I unapologetically love this place and I will fight to protect it. It's better cause I couldn't have said that while being the owner. I need an enemy, just like America :p

I haven't. I barely have the time to even read the books I've bought anymore.

Ambrose Bierce was the greatest quotist that ever lived and wandered off at the age of 73, on foot, into revolutionary Mexico, as a form of suicide. Surely, suuuurely, you patriotic lot should idolize this man - he was as American as anyone. Do yourself a favour and look into it! I'm spamming now and so be it - what does it feel like? It feels dirty and wrong quite honestly.

I am now and probably forever going to use the purple imperial theme - however on mobile, it's a default grey I think.

I like the website, but it's not visually optimized for a larger computer screen.

The updating of news could use a periodic bump to the top as well.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I use ME. I just recently went through all others and it was mostly an eyesoar. I could barely see user names on some. I should actually say I use ME when I'm on the PC. 97% of the time I'm on Mobile. This little iPhone 4S screen isn't easy to use the full version on. Hopefully that will change in a few weeks when I get the iPhone 6 Plus.

Doubtful. I have an S3, and it's not super easy to use the ME theme on it. There's a reason the mobile theme exists :p

I find the mobile theme to be pretty good, actually. It lacks some functionality that is found in the desktop version ("Mark All As Read" on View New Content), but I don't find myself being annoyed with it too often. That being said, a dark version of the mobile theme would be nice.
