Helloo All.

There has been some mention here and there regarding a Mid-winter meet up, with some discussion as to it being held possibly in Manchester this year.
Initially this seemed a great idea because Manc is great and the sausages are worth the trip - however logistically it just isn't going to be possible for a number of us to be able to get to Manc this year.

I'm going to throw an idea out there for those who are able and willing to make another meet-up in London - which doesn't mean that the Manc crowd shouldn't do their own thing of course as I realise that transport and costs are a big consideration for all.

So how about this year, for those who would like to meet in London, we make the trip out to Chiswick and kick off at Studly's venue - then get the tube into somewhere a bit nearer to King's Cross for the second half of the day?
I wouldn't mind another visit to the Betsy Trottwood or some of those other great places that our Cockney Urchin introduced us to last year. Also Mal keeps going on about some awesome cocktail Toby introduced him to when he missed his train home - so I'm curious what that was and where it was - Toby?

The available Saturday's in December are the 6th, 13th and 20th - though the latter may be too near to Christmas to be convenient - Mal and I are pretty flexible so we'd fit in with whichever date is easiest for others.

Anyone willing to give their livers another thrashing - please discuss - and could I ask a mod to sticky this thread? thanks very much

Forgot to add - we have some crash space if anyone wants to miss a train to Cambridge with Mal, but doesn't want the expense of a London hotel

I can currently do any of those dates but the first two are in the middle of a pretty serious study time for me. Exam is on 18th December so Party Liz will not be in effect until the final proposed date I can come to the other dates but may bring my sensible hat with me ....... or not

The awesome cocktails were my suggestion - The Gilbert Scott Bar in the St Pancras Hotel. I highly recommend it, they only serve grown-up cocktails but it is stupidly expensive.

This sounds like an excellent suggestion, I would suggest the 13th as I may have some scandinavian guests between the 10th and 15th in the form of Sheve and his wife/partner? I'll try and get a definite answer out of him ASAP

if it's on the 20th Sarah and I might be able to fit it in with our trip to the US. No promises though, as neither of us know exactly how much vacation we'll be able to take around Christmas.

I MIGHT make it, depending on the date and whether I'll have to work in the weeks leading up to Christmas or not, I certainly do plan to go to the UK sometime later this year. Will have to see about what date gets picked. However, I will most definitely need a place to stay, and since SL seems to get flooded with requests, I'm open for suggestions..

I stand corrected. In the altered state I was inhabiting at the time, I just assumed it was Toby due to his well-established guiding skills

As a resident long time lurker from Australia... I happen to be in London at the moment and should be here until at least January (Hopefully longer if I can manage to get a Job) and would be keen to meet everyone if no one objects to my crashing the party?
