Is it just me or did anyone else immediately think of Judas Priest, or have a sudden urge to sing "Hood-bent, Hood-bent for leather" when they read this line? (in Chapter 11, when Sinter is recalling Kisswhere during the Khundryl charge "she was Hood-bent for leather")

Judas Priest just fits the malazan series. Hull Beddict is called the Sentinel and Hood knows the Crippled God could have used a Painkiller

Who are they, some sort of rock and roll band?

They are one of the earlier heavy metal bands from the 70's/80's. Supposedly they introduced the leather/biker look.
Note to self: I now remember that their new album is called Redeemer of Souls :)
