Anyone been following this wave of celebrity videos with famous people doing the ice bucket challenge?

http://www.alsa.org/...-challenge.html

The gist of it is that you either have to dump a bucket of ice water over your head or donate to the ALS foundation. You also get to nominate 3 other people to doing the ice bucket challenge, which they have to complete within 24 hours. This has lead to there being an avalanche of videos the past couple of days across the social media. One assumes that the celebrities dumping ice on themselves are also donating to the charity.

So far they've collected over 4 million dollars.

What are your favorite videos? If you see some good new ones post them here.

Here's a couple of good ones I have seen so far:

Charlie sheen already won.

I appreciate the sentiment and am impressed with the money its raised, but its going to go the way of the neknominate, someone's going to up the ante to look cooler than the rest, it will spiral, someone will go to far.

We had something of the same over here in the winter. If you didn't take a bath in the sea/lake you had to donate to charity.

CNN had a montage of a bunch of Celebs doing it.

They have made something like 3x what they did last year with this donation drive instead of whatever they did last year.

Lets be honest, that's all that the public is really waiting for.
I can see it now "A-list celebrity found drowned in a swimming pool filled with ice cubes".

According to the wikipedia article, the ice bucket challenge is actually an offshoot of that trend. The other one was deemed unsafe.

It did annoy me. He could at least act like he did some actual work on the thing and not just flail a portable torch around like it's the first time he is holding the thing.

I'll tell you what, he may be a billionaire but he shouldn't quit his day job...

Someone in Germany has already died. A group of 5 people thought it was smart to fill the scoop of a digger and 'tip' it onto them, however the weight of te scoop was too much and rather than pouring water on them they were crushed by the scoop.

Last I hear 1 person had died and 3 were injured.

Like has been said, some will take it too far. Personally I think that its a stupid thing to do, for example, someone with a weak heart or an unknown medical condition could cause a sever shock to their system and end up doing some real harm.

Just to point out I support charity work, but i beleive that there are less idiotic things to do to raise money and awareness.

Blood for the Ice God

Skulls for the ALS Throne

One does not cure a horribly debilitating neurological disease with out a few blood sacrifices to the lord of pestilence.

Tired of watching it. Someone is going to get seriously injured. I just watched a compilation of people failing at it and some of them could have gotten paralyzed or concussed very easily. Then there will have to be a fundraiser for their dumb ass.

Which will lead to more videos of people hurting themselves in imaginary ways. It's a win win situation for the internet and Charles Darwin.

Not sure how pouring a cold bucket of water over your head could seriously injure anyone. Is there something I have not seen? Like people taking it further? Naw, I've seen it all. Posted Image
