Hey all,

I've lurked here on and off over the years, through the early excitement of my first reads, and numerous re-reads. I've ridden the waves of speculation and the wild theories. I've always enjoyed reading the opinions found here, and the forum has clarified many a plot point and raised more questions than I could ever hope to deal with. It's still one of my go-to spots for news and reading recs.

Now I've (arguably) put my obsession to good use and written a piece of literary criticism about the series, called Sleight of Hand: Chaos,Authorship & Humanity in the Malazan Book of the Fallen.

It is basically my attempt at drawing together a fewthematic strands that tickled my mind over the last couple of re-reads.

I'm posting this because the forum is largely to blame forthe book's existence, and here dwell the folk who'd be most interested. Also, I'd love to keep the conversation going.

Here's the amazon link, and it also lives on smashwords if you're that way inclined.

Cheers,

Mike

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

No, but I've a damn sneaky lawyer.

Malazan scholarship

If I've done anything like I set out to do, the academy would likely consider it distinctly unscholarly :)

Wow, nice! I'll have to take a look at this. Have you sent it to Erikson and/or heard anything from him about it?

EDIT: Also, your book, Night in Arbin, sounds interesting. I've added it to my list of books to check out.

Sorry for the slow response. Yes, Steve has read it and approves wholeheartedly, both of its intent and content.
