Okay, so the trailer is only running in theatres Friday now, not all weekend as was previously reported.
AND If you go to the iTunes Trailer page, there is an ad on the side saying that they wil have the trailer digitally on the site friday as well.

Well shit we were planning to go Sunday.
EDIT - are you sure it's only Friday? All the sites I've read say it's the whole weekend.

I've read conflicting reports. Initially it was all weekend and all movies...and now I see some reporting that it's only Friday as per JJ's tweet about it.
But Star Wars official twitter has confirmed that the teaser will indeed be up on iTunes tomorrow.
So you might still be okay on Sunday, but maybe call the theatre to double check?

It's up, but my computer doesn't like iTunes much so here.
Mostly it looks pretty promising without telling us anything, but I was really sure that Abrams couldn't possibly come up with anything as daft as what George Lucas asked us to swallow, and then

It's a terrible guard because other lightsabers would just cut the emiters
I think opening the trailer with an unknown stormtrooper who looks confused in the desser was a mistake. It looked like the start of a bad horror film

A. Again we are assuming it's a typical lightsaber...it may not be. And the blade is ragged and doesn't look like it.
B. That stormtrooper is John Boyega, he's one of the two new MAIN cast, and the movie apparently begins with him leaving the Troopers and teaming up with Kira. I don't think it's a mistake to show the lead in the first shot...no?

I think what's great is JJ gives us not one (The X-Wings), not two (The Falcon), but THREE (Tie Fighters) ICONIC ship visuals from the OT.

Someone was pointing out over at The Force.net (before it crashed under the weight of members online) that even the effects on the X-Wing shot alone make the prequel effects look dated and shitty.
Practical effects for the mutha-fuzuckin-win (convert/admission...I used to defend the CGI in the prequels....but hell this is so much better).
