Biscuits and gravy?

What sort of biscuits would those be? Sorry but my first thought was that it sounds like dog food!

Regular buttermilk biscuits with white gravey. It's great

I've tried biscuits and gravy when I've been in the US. I can't get into it. I tried it twice in case the first place was bad. The biscuits are nice (kind of like a savoury scone in the UK) but I think there's a mental block in the British head with the gravy either due to what it's called or just that it is morning food but it just seems wrong.

I've been eating custard donuts today. Mmmm.

Sausage gravy.

Basically you cook a lb of sausage, add flour to thicken, then milk. Cook and stir till it thickens. Add salt and pepper.

Smother it over biscuits and enjoy.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Making "fastelaven" buns. Tradition in Norway today, as it is last day before the fast start. Not that anybody fasts still but we've kept the good part. Served cut in half with cream and jam between. Anticipation!

I'm pretty sure we've had this biscuits and gravy discussion on here before.
Yeah, from this side of the Atlantic, it just sounds wrong.
So wrong.

I'm making eggs and Italian ham on GF toast with cheese sprinkles.

I was thinking about mixing some Ginger Snaps in too....

😂

You made toast out of your girlfriend?

Also, why does it matter if its Italian Ham? Do farmers in Italy feed the ham differently so it tastes differently?

Dim sum! Lots of little yummy dumplings. I also tried the chicken feet which were quite tasty, and they made me think of Tehol.

The fodder is typically very different, also quite possibly a different kind of pig. Not to mention a different method of curing the ham and of storage.

For dinner, I made myself a submarine style sandwich with tomato, Serrano ham, mesclun salad, soft boiled egg, and Balsamic sautéed mushrooms.

Simple, but delicious.

Decided to get back into the routine of making breakfast instead of stopping at a shop for hot food en route to site (usually a scotch egg and sausage rolls)
Poached eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast today

I've fallen back into the routine of stopping at the shop in the morning, ostensibly buy a paper and bottle of water.
But.....

Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, pasties, all just sitting there, looking at me.

I've never heard of Scotch Eggs, but I want some now.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Pork pie, scotch egg, sausage roll. The holy trinity of picnics. Never ask me to choose between them, I just can't.
