Esslemont's agent John Jarrold has made a list of his agency titles for 2012. It includes Blood and Bone, a new novel by ICE. The publication date is November 2012. Are we really going to have three new Malazan books this year?

Would be cool, but I very much doubt that it will be out this year. Seems like these things always get pushed back.

Thought the name of the next ICE Malazan book after OST was to be "City in the Jungle"

But let's admit it; that was a crap title. Blood and Bone is way more awesome—hopefully they've just changed the title and if not, then we've all been terribly misinformed.
The love I bear thee can afford no better term than this: thou art a villain.

I find myself expressing reservations, as I don't want to get myself too hyped up over something that may not even be true.
However, if that is indeed the next Malazan book, and it's scheduled to be out by the end of this year, my mind is going to be blown by awesomeness. Of course, if it's scheduled for release at the end of this year, it will probably get pushed back, but hell. I don't think anyone here is going to complain about three new Malazan novels, all roughly within a year of each other.

blood and bone hey? if this is the new name, think we'll be finding out how the jacuruku mages make their automatons (see RotCG)? cuz that would be suhweet! especially since we see some of their armour in the OST sneak peak

I think it's cool to see a young Adama and the First Cylon War... oh wait that's Blood & Chrome...
When the rabbit of chaos is pursued by the ferret of disorder through the fields of anarchy, it is time to hang your pants on the hook of darkness. Whether they're clean or not.

Basically, we have 3 options, listed in order of ascending awesomeness:
I'm cool with any of those, honestly.
- A previously-unannounced non-Malazan fantasy book.
- A retitled Jacuruku novel.
- ICE's fifth Malazan book.
I'm cool with any of those, honestly.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Orb, Sceptre, and Throne was finished around the time Stonewielder was released, so it wouldn't surprise me if the next book is finished as well.

I'm just praying it doesn't get pushed back, as per usual.

I'm about 100 pages into OST, and there's mention of Jacuruku automatons in it, though
Much prefer _Blood And Bone_ as a title to _City In The Jungle_, and if you squint at them sideways they could appear to be about the same book.

It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

It's all a farce! Every time a new ICE novel comes out we learn that it was actually written years ago and is only being published now. I posit that ICE has been dead for decades and SE is raiding his vault that he found on an expedition.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

There is an isbn number for Blood and Bone by ICE from 1998.... Which means it might be a reprint from one of his early novels. But not sure though.

Just looked a little deeper and City in The Jungle is there too, which is also 1998.... So, that doesn't really help at all. Just more confusion.

If this "resubmitting old, already written books" is true, the way these books are being re-sold to us as fresh content is horseshit then.

Yea definitely, but they still might be new ones just with an incorrect date on it. As Miss Savage said it's those damn timelines again.
