Didn't hate the episode as a stand-alone, but it was certainly hamstrung by all the bad character decisions they've been making this half season for random dramatic effect (and this episode doubled down on pretty much all of them). You know it's a weird one when Morgan's not the one making the worst decisions.

I only watched it the one time, but to me it looked like Dwight had him in his sights, then pulled to the side to shoot, like he just wanted to graze wound. Then the fake cg blood covered the screen to prevent us from seeing that he was ok. I think he's fine. as for the others...

I can go for the Saviour lady hitting a nerve (I forget her name, "irritating redhead" will do) and there being some conscience-developing fallout - but they've done it so quickly it just feels like the writers clicking their fingers and having the character do what they need her to do for the plot without thought to whether it makes any sense.

Case in point: leaving a note with the sentiment of "can't kill anymore" only to stitch an automatic pistol into your jacket sleeve, gun down three/four? Saviours and then spear another one on a spike. Tonight Matthew, I shall be Vlad the Impaler.

Again, character doing what the writers need, because plot.

As for the final ep question:

I'm betting on Glenn. It's Glenn in the comic books at this point, and with that ridiculous fake-out death from earlier in the series I feel like his time might be up. Also it dicks over Maggie (waaay too much foreshadowing in her dialogue) who now appears to possibly be losing the baby as well. Just as long as it isn't Daryl - whose arms am I going to be distracted by if it is??!

Yeah, I agree with Worry as well. Lots of dumb shit just to push the plot. I think the death will be Glenn...but the only thing throwing a monkey wrench into it being just like the comics is the appearance of Maggie losing the baby which does not occur there.

If it's Daryl, I'm out. I know that's a cliche thing to say, but right now he's the ONLY one I really tune in for.

I'm not at all joking. If this is what occurs, I'm walking away from the show. If this is what happened, it would happen solely for Shock value. Kirkman is entitled to do what he likes with his story, but Daryl really is the only person I care about. Without him, TWD just isn't as interesting to me, and I'll probably just drop it off my sched.

I'm upset/annoyed that she's going through this self evaluation process, but I feel it fits fine. She's been hearing Morgan prattle on about not killing, life is precious, not losing himself again; and she wasn't "seeing it." It was just nonsense. I forget what the trigger was before she and Maggie were held captive, but I remember she was waking up in the middle of the night remembering more people that she killed, and adding it to the list at her bedside so she could get a tally of how many humans she's killed. Then seeing/hearing the other woman talking, again while she's in the self evaluating phase, sees the similarities between them. She sees the similarities between her and her captor, feels she could just as easily become a monster, killing indiscriminately for her own gains. She's (Carol) at a point where she can kill pretty easily/without thought/remorse if the need occurs. It's a slippery slope if you can kill someone for this reason, is it so different to kill them for that reason? How about for something else? Pretty soon you're just killing people because you have no faith in humanity and you're preemptively protecting yourself.

I kind of think she picked up those rosary beads as a ploy at first, to seem weak, but maybe it jarred her memory and reminded her of her past. How the world was.

I think it's Glen, I hope so, even though I like Glen. (I keep wanting to write Glenn but I think it's 1 n as written then removed from the "Alaxandrian Wall of the Fallen.") (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?!?) Like I said earlier in the season, the whole Glen surviving that unescapable situation felt like a cop out. I'm surprising pretty much over it now, but still, after that his character needs to take the Lucille beating. I mean, it was even him seeing the photos of the Lucille victims in that bunker! FORESHADOWING!!

I think Daryl will just be grazed. It looked like Dwight pulled his shot to me (like I said above) and they used a bunch of CG blook to cover that fact up.

Anways, my original thought for writing this post was to inquire/remind about Abraham. Wondering if he'll be going down as well in the initial skirmish.

heh, I wonder if they'll be captured, lined up, one of the thugs mentions Negan. In frustration Abraham blurts out "Who's Negan?!" again. And Negan shoots him from within a crowd of his thugs, revealing himself and introducing himself to the audience. Then Lucille takes down Glen. Heh. I just want to hear 1 more "Who's so-and-so?!" from Abraham before he goes!

The whole time I'm sitting watching and thinking the whole "let's go this way" "let's go this way" and being essentially herded the way the Saviors wanted them to go – which felt REALLY stupid to me by the way, I don't care HOW many people you have under you Negan...they can't police/blockade ALL the woods and fields between Alexandria and Hilltop. That part of it felt way more stupid and plotserving when one ambush would have been more impressive. The idea that these people are these silent ninja ghosts even in the wood...when they look like a bunch of country fried rubes who could not SNEAK through the bush if you trained them...is silly to me – ALL that buildup and we don't even get to see who Negan iced?

The only was the narrative tone and style of that episode works is to show us who he chooses to kill. I mean other than the shows' need to throw in a pointless "gaspy" cliffhanger...what purpose does it serve for us not to know? I would argue that it's a MUCH better cliffhanger if we DO know.

That was as copped out as the show has gotten yet for me, in service to a stupid cliffhanger.

I kept thinking Rick should have taken out Trevor and his small pack at the first road block. Everything else just got ridiculously worse. How many resources were wasted to arrange that show down (gas, man power, etc).

I think they were trying to go for the "You can't escaaaaaaape...boogety boogety boogety" scare factor. The random firing of the gun at the one roadblock? The hell was that about? Was that supposed to be ominous? In the apocalypse I'm scared by a road block and some automatic weapon fire? But none of that ever works. It just felt forced every time...adding the fact that the road always seemed to be hemmed in at the point the blockades were set. So we are to assuem that all the pathways AROUND the blockade are either completely impassable...or that the Saviors are omnipotent crystal ball wizards. God what stupidity.

But the worst offense really is not showing us who Negan killed. That's a show runner (Scott Gimple) who doesn't have the first fucking clue how to make a proper season finale work. If you have to hang your hat in your finale on "Who did he kill?"...then you failed at arc-writing 101. That should not be the big thing to leave us with.

Second, who wants to bet me that we won't even find out in S7 episode 1 who the person killed was? They'll do a whole Ep of Morgan and Carol going with the Kingdom people they met instead, and then we will find out in Ep2...at the end...in the last 5 minutes...

...at which point I'll just say FUCK this show.

a) For the next six months your going to be wondering who it is... b)When you come back your going to HATE negan vs have six months to let hate subside.

The thing that bothered me with those numbers of people they could have just set up one of those roadblock's with automatic gunfire and some snipers on the sides at any point just waiting. Death to crew... That crew would have been toast if they wanted them dead. Rick should have know they where F'ed on the 2nd one and had a better plan then just go with it. The whole scenario just took me out of the scenario right there...Terminus was better thought out as a trap. This trap just was not logical at all. I can't be the only one that drove bonkers. If I was the saviors I would have set up a roadblock and just took them out for what they did to the other saviors at this point of the TV show..in TV show world.

I really want to like the last three episodes, but the choices they are making seem far fetched with their level of experience in this Universe. Chasing Daryl, leaving Alexandria for these reasons and the Roadblocks...etc. Hopefully they start making more intelligent decisions.../gah
