Best episode this season and S6 already has my favorite "first three episodes of the season" with the possible exception of S1.

I'm still not buying it. The guy fell on top of him...and we know that if you cover yourself in guts you can be left alone...my wife thinks that the other dude is getting eaten and that Glenn will be fine...and Steven Yeun wasn't on the Talking Dead afterwards (which is normal for a cast member who gets iced in TWD).

How exactly is it a cop-out? Surviving the attack would be an interesting turn for a show that has no compunction about killing off characters. What other narrative reason is there for the other dude to fall DIRECTLY on top of him? Aside from that USUALLY deaths of main characters are "clearly" deaths. Like no room for error on the part of the audience, you SEE them getting bitten clearly...no way someone like Steven Yeun gets such an weird ambiguous death scene when he's part of the original group...and then they always appear on THE TALKING DEAD after...and Yeun didn't. But yeah, how exactly would it be a copout to have him survive? What, just the fakeout death? I don't see anything wrong with that considering they've rarely done it (if ever).

My initial reaction was the same as most, in that, I thought it was Nicholas' body on top of Glenn that was getting torn apart. I also noticed that Glenn didn't seem to be screaming in pain, which i think most others have done when they're being torn apart by walkers. Glenn was reacting to what was going on, but it almost seemed like the reaction he had seeing Noah ripped up right in front of him in the revolving door. Like I said, I don't think he was making much noise. That is what I would expect if it wasn't "me" being torn up; stay quiet and hope you get a chance to slide under the dumpster(?). It's true Steven Yeun wasn't on Talking Dead but Hardwick said there will be a surprise guest next week, which is what they usually say when a character is going to/does die. The statement that head writer Scott Gimple put out there to try to cushion the reaction just made the situation more cloudy, imo.

Gimple's comment is vague enough for me to call it Hollywood double speak.

That actually makes sense to me. The reason I even mentioned a balloon is because the pool of blood was so far above his body it didn't make sense/seemed like overkill. But if it's chucklehead's blood/body instead, that makes perfect sense.

I don't watch TD, but it's not outside of Hardwick's general philosophy of: spoilers are no big deal and people need to get over it. I've heard him say that numerous times.

First time I watched the scene I bought Glenn's 'death' completely and got quite upset. Then I watched it again and saw it the way that's been discussed above, i.e. it wasn't him being eaten. At this point, I'll be more impressed if he is dead because of the way I felt the first time I saw it. If he's not I'll be a bit disappointed but not particularly surprised.

I'm loving this season, it's still managing to impress me. Ricks little encounter with those two wolves in the Winnebago (as an Englishman, that is the funniest word of today for me by far) reminded me, again, of how badass he is. Not that I need reminding really!

Big gripe with ep2 though.
I can't see how Carol could have pulled that 'Chewie' moment off.
There wasn't a single instance of these 'Wolves' taking prisoners at any time during the raid. They were just killing indiscriminately.
I really can't see how those two wolves she passed weren't instantly suspicious of here having this 'prisoner' chained behind her. It just wouldn't have worked.
I'd have much preferred to see her come out of the armoury killing as many as she could.
She's more than capable.
But then I appreciated the nod to Star Wars nonetheless.
I also suppose, just like Chewie in the analogy, Morgan would have been more than capable of exploding on those two guys too.
It's just didn't work for me.

As far as Glenn is concerned, I think he's alive. I just can't accept his being dead....

I'm also loving the moments of intense
surprise. Like the time the wolves first appear, a guy bursting into the picture, without warning, chopping that smoking lady up (proof that smoking kills), as well as the above mentioned mobile home encounter. I shat my pants there too.
They really are playing with all the rules, again. The suspense is, as always, constant. And yet, there's still the moment of complete shock!

That preacher is irritating the fuck out of me though. He looks so much like Kanye, and he's a total ponce, that I can't but hate him.

I have to agree. I'm almost positive at one point early in the attack that a Wolf was leading a resident of Alexandria (presumed, since I didn't recognize him) with his hands tied in front of him. To add credence; remember the potential recruit in the red jacket that Aaron and Daryl were trying to get to? At the end of that episode, they show the two Wolves from the Morgan encounter with that guy as prisoner and they slit his throat right at the fence to the food warehouse trap. My assumption is that they either make someone a Wolf torso or a walker to keep up their supply for traps? What criteria they might be using to make that choice is beyond me, though!

Eh, I think set photo's from EW magazine from March of this year...don't really qualify as "spoiler" though do they? One would only have had to see the magazine to know...and that's widely available.
