For me its a toss up between Rake and Kruppe.
Rake because his level of badassery is off the charts, and Kruppe because underneath his guise of silliness he hides tremendous mystery, power, and intelligence.

I like Kruppe the best in this book. He's one of the only characters that's really developed in any sense and he's pretty funny to read. The fact that they keep hinting throughout the book that he's 'much more' than he appears really gets you wondering. I've read the first 9 books and unless I've missed something I still don't really understand who/what he is.

Well I don't have one single character that I like best but my favorites in GotM are: Anomander, Quick Ben, Paran, Murillio, and Rallick.

Kalam and Quickben myself. Maybe it's just the continuous anticipation of something hitting the fan; but I always get excited when they're together.

Take me as a knife and I will turn in your hand. I swear it.

I've only just started reading it and so far I don't really like any character in particular. Some of the random soldiers seem cool but I think I'll need to read more before I can choose a favourite.

When I first read it I had Rallick up in the top spot. But after re-reading it I was able to fully identify with Kruppe's genious, and he quickly bumped Rallick out.

Haha, I'm glad we finally have a Kruppe-level genius posting here, all the lesser geniuses and actual non-geniuses (blech!) were getting tedious.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Lorn! Her musings were so philosophic at times, so many of my favorite quotes just happen to be spoken in her inner-monologue.

Like a lot of people I could name on these forums I started with MOI. It was just the book that I picked up in WHSmiths that I most liked the look of and that had the most appealing blurb.
My favourite character from MOI was (by a country mile) Quickben, but by the time I finished GotM that had changed to Kalam. They remained my favourites through the entire series. =)

It`s difficult to pick a single character since all the best bits are duos: Kalam and Quick Ben, Lorn and Tool, and so forth throughout the book and series. Just one? In this book only? I liked Tool quite a bit. His sence of humour is awesome. "I think of futility adjunct" "most of our kind do not think at all" "because, adjunct, it is futile" Beautiful. Says so much about him.

My choice would have to either be Kalam or Quick Ben.

My favorite character in this book is Kruppe. I find him to be very interesting and hilarious. He is also a very deceptive person to wrap your mind around. I also grow to like him more in memories of ice.

I'll have to go with Kruppe too. In the rather chaotic reading experience that is GotM, he immediately stood out (at least for me). And when other characters develop throughout the series by changing, trying to change and/or escaping (or fulfilling) their past, Kruppe develops by... being Kruppe.

Probably Tool.
Coll and Paran's moment made me like both of them a lot.

Fiddler & Hedge... I think Mallet is pretty cool as well (for a relatively minor character)
