Do you have an Ø key on your keyboard or do you have to do extra stuff for that?

I don't know if Beareg is a Scandie or not but I know that standard Scandie keyboards have a shortcut for Ø, which a Danish friend told me once is pronounced 'uhh'. I call it 'Sex Sound O'.

Hey! Fresh Forum Norwegian here!

Standard Norwegian Keyboard has Å, Æ, Ø keys. Other Scandinavian countries have of course different versions of the letters, e.g. The Swedish Mööse.

Now I want to have my computer play the Ø-sound. That would make me happy. My surroundings might disagree, though. Ponders.

Haha, make the most of that, Mez!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

So it's D-day tomorrow. Leaving at about 5am.
Got stop over at a friends in Diss, Norfolk (or Suffolk - who cares?) to grab around 8 hours sleep.
Then it's up and off to catch Le Shuttle for 1.20am.
So I've got from about 3am CET until no later that 8pm, to get from Calais to Faenza.
I realise it's seat of the pants stuff, but I've made an itinary that breaks it up into 4 segments.
I'm hoping the scenery and novelty (and that lovely French coffee) will keep me going.
I'll be flaking out pretty much as I get there, got to start Wednesday morning 8.30.
WOW.
This is going to kill me
I've just said good bye to my folks over Sunday roast and it's starting to get real now.
Putting the kids to bed is going to be the worst.....

Wish me luck guys.

Good luck! It will be done before you know it - the drive and the time away from home.

Not only do I have an Ø, I also have an Æ and an Å, because Norwegian keyboards are cool like that.

Ann Leckie is coming to Oslo on the 19th for a talk about AI with Ørjan Karlson at Deichmanske, and she's coming to Outland on the 20th for a book signing, which means I get to meet her!

Can't wait!

Also, I have been made project manager for a huge translation project Outland has started. So far, it's only me and one other person, but I'm hoping to expand very soon!

Oh, and I wrote the ending to my book! Now I just need all that pesky stuff in the middle...

Nice one! The ending is the hardest part. Once you know how it all ends and how it starts, the filling comes much easier.

To be honest, they're all sex sounds.

I had a sort of idea about what to put in the middle, but I've sort of forgot over time... so now I'm just writing bakwards from the ending, and seeing how that goes ^_^

Breathing life into one of the classic lines of history:

Overpaid, overfed, oversexed, and over here.

I have four "barn cats". They're all from the same litter (is that the right word for cats?}

One of them (which I call Merry or Pippen; they're sorta interchangeable) just fell down the box from my TV.

He's starting to freak a bit.

This is really, really funny.

Which says 100% more about me than it does about pets.

Applebees Bourbon Street Steak. Divine.

Not so much because of its taste but the purely happy memories it induces. Odor is possibly the most intense trigger. And this one has absolutely no down sides. Just happy memories.

Yes I miss her.

Good reason to take better care of yourself: you're the bearer of singularly sacred memories.

If by that you mean you scored a speaking part in Episode VIII, then I'm sorry but I'm going to have to track you down, kill you, cut off your face and pretend to be you.

Sorry.

If you meant something else then this conversation never happened ...
