My in-laws have bought a house in Oregon, just a couple of hours outside of Portland. Meaning we'll be spending our holidays in Oregon rather than Alaska from now on.

I am rather excited.


Oh my GOD!!!! I am super excited too. Where!!! Now if we time it right on a vacation we can all do microbrew hopping in Portland. :p

I'm definitly up for that :D! I'm not sure exactly where it is, but was told it was two hours outside of Portland.


Depending on which directon that two hours is my in-laws live either 3 or 7 hours from there. Beer party!

Attended my first game last night for my new employers, and got to see a short video clip I made get played over the big screen as pre-match and halftime entertainment/information.

The clip itself was nothing great (just some match highlights and crowd reactions from the previous week) but to actually see it playing on a big screen in a stadium was nice.

Also got to swan around the stadium wherever I wanted with my shiny new ACCESS ALL AREAS pass. Would be much happier if the result had gone our way too.

I just bought a motherfucking house! 215 square metres of awesomeness. It has a patio, a big fat backyard, double garage with a small room above with where I can write and sew and what the fuck ever, a bath tub...and the best part - fibre (for internetz)!!!




Aaaaw jiisssss!





This also means I can finally get a cat, or two, and a dog...oh, and a tea cup pig, and a pygmy goat!!!!

Well, I finally allowed myself to buy new clothes.

Last year, I decided I had to get back in shape, so I started changing my lifestyle a bit. In total, I've lost just under 20 kg (Google tells me that's ~44lbs) in a year, so my wardrobe was filled with ill-fitting clothes. During the year, as I was still losing weight, I only bought things that were absolutely necessary, such as a belt.

Now, I'm quite stable at a healthy weight, although I'm planning to lose some more weight next spring (leading up to my yearly cycling trip in the mountains).

I started working as an intern (of sorts) for Munster Rugby. A frankly ridiculous job to fall into considering my relative lack of experience. So I need to make the absolute most of it. My old film/video classmates are suitably jealous.

Looking forward to the big European Cup games at home. Should be mayhem.

GF said she wants to enroll for pole dancing training. After some shock and actually coming to terms with the idea, it's actually pretty kickass. Worst thing is that I feel the pressure now to enroll with a gym myself... :p

I got my sister to pick up The Mirror Empire. Usually she reads paranormal romance which is fine but I hope this books kickstarts a interest in both epic fantasy and interest in feminist fiction (though not say some paranormal romance isn't, I don't read much, but I doubt the stuff she reads is).

NZ elections are over. Regardless of the result, this at least means I no longer have to listen to our elected representatives talking over each other like children in various debates, and it will no longer feel like anyone is studiously trying to avoid the topic of elections at work. Woo! ;)
