First one I worked on for quite a while, maybe 2 hours. Wanted to do a concept of Apt as I see it and added Kalam for scale, a bit close but I was working on a very small paper, sketch is about 4 inches wide.

For a moment there, when I read the thread title, I thought you had drawn a picture of our own Apt on a dragon which would have caused me to question your sanity and right to move freely among normal people.

But now that I see what it really is I only have one thing to say: Bloody awesome!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I like your take on Apt, very different from how I imagined.
Sort of insect-like. Very good.
Rejoice. For very bad things are about to happen

I'm flattered but my legs aren't nearly that long. Also I don't have... that many spikes.

Love that take on Apt... wonderfully alien/insect/reptile... i think you should remove Kalam and submit that for the webpage.

Not a critique, just a question... do the books ever give her a tail or was that artistic liberty?

Reminds me a bit of the alien bugs from Starship Troopers.
No Touchy.

I think its awesome, though I seem to vaguely remember the Aptorian was described with a longish flexible neck? Its been way too long since my last read of the series and this is kickass regardless! i like how precise your mental image of apt is. I can see panek happily riding on her back grinning while she goes on a rampage. very very cool.

Really love Apt. Have had a very hard time picturing a 3 legged demon, until now.
“No sir. I judged as greatest the need of the Bridgeburners for the munitions in this carriage—’ ‘Shh! Don’t use that word, you fool!’ ‘Sorry, sir. Perhaps, then, we should invent some other term – something innocuous, that we could use freely.’ ‘Good idea. How about … kittens?’ ‘Kittens, sir? Why not? Now then, our carriage full of kittens is not something that can be abandoned, is it, sir?”
