I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about the Lestari Lieutenant that was present as Gruntle's second during the Siege of Capustan? I don't remember if we ever learnt his name, It always just seemed odd that he was brought up quite a few times but never named.

No, we never learn his name. He died during the battle at Coral along with most of Trake's Legion. I guess he was SE's mouthpiece for the Legion as a whole, showing how they view Gruntle and the association with Treach.

I think we never learn his name because Gruntle never learns his name, and all the scenes of the legion in Capustan are from Gruntle's PoV until the BBs show up. Not learning the names of anyone in the legion, or even remembering them to note when certain ones die and are replaced, etc - not having any of this I think helps to portray that Gruntle is not being his usual self and is acting fully as Treach's Mortal Sword. Later on there's a scene where he snaps out of it and comments obscurely about feeling like himself again when Stonny notices.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.
